Branded switch backpacks? Oh kay. This is getting ridiculous.

What do we want?!? Games! When will we get them?!? Sometimes in the future, but buy our branded gear for now!

Having official cases for mobile consoles has always been a thing. Why single the Switch out for this?

Also, launch lineups are very rarely good. What matters is the game support on the long run, and we can't say how it will go for the Switch yet. (Although I think it's safe to assume western third party support will be close to non-existent as usual).

As far as third party support, Nintendo's publishing Zelda Breath of the Wild, 1 2 Switch, Snipperclips, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Arms, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (although I feel this one will be delayed).

And that's only announced titles on the Switch event. Remember, E3 is 3 months after the Switch launches, so it wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo still had a few games in store for this year, and / or early 2018.

Not a spectacular first year, but not a terrible one, either.

Having branded gear typically happens post launch. And the Switch software support is worse than the wiiu, which means it's the worst in decades.

The issue is that this is a very common issue with nintendo, a focus on products related to gaming rather than the actual games. Amiibos, Pokemon Go wrist devices that didn't even work at launch, branded products up the wazoo. Nintendo is not showing even close to the same level of support for games but they focus more than Microsoft and Sony combined on branded products.
