It's a simple fact that not enough people played Splatoon. Blame it on the Wii U's poor uptake, the game's toy town veneer putting people off or it just being a bit too slight at launch; Splatoon was a stand-out classic, but there aren't anywhere near enough people intimate with its charms.

o matter what the reasoning is behind Splatoon 3’s lack of content and substance in the first half of its paid expansion, Wave 1: Inkopolis is certainly not worth any fan’s money and should have always been viewed as a small bonus to tide fans off from what’s still to come.
A new version 5.5.1 update has just gone live for Splatoon 2.
uh duh you haven't played the full game.
Well just based off the trailer/previews, it seems more like a safe sequel than anything which is ok. But for me personally it doesn't that have excitement like OMG A SEQUEL feeling. It's just more Splatoon which again, there's nothing wrong with that. I know this is probably a bad comparison and many may not agree with this, but its the same feeling I get with Assassin Creed and Call of Duty. It's the next installment, but it doesn't feel fresh enough.
It really did look like an upgraded splatoon. I hope they enhance the one player mode. Though I'm glad the local play is the same as online, since the first one you were just shooting balloons
