I just want to know does the band where it connects to the ear cuff actually sturdy and not flimsy like other PS headsets. One of the drawbacks of PS pulse elites the band where it connects to he ear cuff would crack over time.

My PS golds have held up since the day I got them, which was the day they released.

Im wondering if other cans will use the Sony 3D sound tech with the PS4 or is it a exclusive thing.

It's proprietary Sony technology only found in the Platinum headset.

My Golds are the best sounding wireless headset I've heard for under $100. In fact they're better than many wired headsets that cost more. I've even compared them to wired headsets twice the price and while not as good, they still compete. Can't wait to pick up the Platinums.

And the Platinums have better 7.1 vss, 3D audio, 50mm drivers (Golds are 40mm), a sturdier build, more presets, improved noise cancelling mic w/noise cancelling software built-in, 12+ hours battery life, and improved noise cancelling on the cups.

The Golds are a nice PS4 headset, but the Platinums are vastly improved.

Supposedly in 3D audio mode while playing Uncharted 4 they are spectacular. Great for ppl who play Uncharted 4 mp as it will give you a clear advantage. The 3D audio allows the sounds to come from above and below you and to interpret depth in a way that was previously impossible. So you will know exactly where the shots are coming from and exactly how far away they are.

Honestly, playing Uncharted 4 mp on PS4 Pro with this Platinum headset will give you an advantage over others.

My Golds are cracking on top headband & the vinyl has come loose from the headband too.
I've used them quite at bit for over two years or more & still use them. The plether does get hot & it will peel eventually.
That said, I'll probably get the platinums when my golds die. I replaced the ear cup pads with some Shure ear pads.
Had to do a bit of gluing & I lost a lot of the sound Isolation function but they feel a bit better & don't heat up quite as bad.
