Find out what happens next when you wake up on a beach in a gorgeous land of secrets.

Just Another Walking/Running simulator without any cool voice acting or any story related. If they did all that, this game would be like zelda, and they could then also make a second/third game from this. Devs these Days never learn, they make these oversatured games. Just wait for Reviews on this one.

I hope you're not right, otherwise I will have to pass on this one.

Meltic3081d ago

I hope i'm wrong too ! But i have a gut feeling about this one, hope it's wrong

Timesplitter143082d ago (Edited 3082d ago )

Well shadow of the colossus didn't have any voice acting (almost) or direct storytelling either, so I wouldn't say that's the problem

r3f1cul3082d ago

shadow of the colossus and inside had absolutely no voice acting and they were 2 of my favorite games i played last year

Darkfist_Flames3082d ago

Actually shadow of the colossus does have a direct storytelling(same for ICO and TLG), but the things that surround the adventure is a mystery.

Irishguy953082d ago

This reminds me of Journey...

Like...exact same premise? Is it the same dev?

Deadlead3082d ago

No.
Journey- Thatgamecompany
Rime- Tequila works

"Just Another Walking/Running simulator"

You obviously didn't watch past the first two minutes.

Game looks good to me.

IamTylerDurden13081d ago (Edited 3081d ago )

It's heavily borrowing from Journey, Last Guardian, ABZU, The Witness, and even Toren/Ico. The music is That Game Company to a T. The protagonist, his shout mechanic, and even his mannerisms/movement share similarities to TLG. The wall paintings remind me of ABZU and the world structure has similarities to The Witness. The towers and many other elements remind me of Toren. I think Rime is trying very hard to be a certain type of game.

This really seems like a puzzle game with the only reason for exploration being to find the next redundant puzzle element. I'd prefer if exploration was a symptom of the world enticing you to search and seek out its natural wonder. I'd like to see the world littered with secrets and narrative enhancing bits, it seems beautiful but sparse.

I think the game would be better served if it mixed up gameplay more. I think some enemies and/or basic combat would break up the monotonous puzzle gameplay. The Witness can do it bc the puzzles are so intuitive and well designed. The Witness is a pure puzzler, but i don't think Rime can rely solely on its average puzzles for its gameplay and narrative elements. Speaking of story, it appears virtually non existent with loose interpretations guiding you through a wordless narrative. Only superbly artful games with powerful non verbal storytelling can truly get away with this, and i do not see Rime on the same level as a game like Journey or a title from Team Ico.

It looks nice but there are some things that I don't like. The invisible wall next to the hog on top of the stairs really annoys me especially when there is so much space to go by. I don't know, I might wait for the reviews first for this one.

Imp0ssibl33082d ago

Agreed, let's wait on reviews

paddy953082d ago

Looks shallow and pretentious. Meh

VerminSC3082d ago

This looks more like the game I originally wanted THE WITNESS to be. I'm excited

The 10th Rider3082d ago

I agree that it looks a little light in terms of gameplay, but it's just the first 25 minutes. Some of the best games out there have really crappy intros. I still think the game is intriguing, but I will have to see how other gameplay looks when we get a glimpse at it.

5 Bad Switch Ports That Should Not Have Happened

Greysun writes:

The Nintendo Switch gets bombarded with many, many ports. But most of them actually run pretty well, with only a couple that we would call bad Switch ports.

While I agree with the majority on this list Bloodstained is far from a bad port. Sure it doesn't run as fast as the other more powerful machines and has some sacrifices made to the graphics to keep the game running smooth. But some of the errors that are being mentioned can be patched and addressed. The game is still fun to play, it's not like it's broken or anything.

King_Noctis2178d ago

Ark should have never been released the way it is on the Switch. The game is so so bad.

It's purely down to the incompetence of the Devs. Just go and look at how more demanding games have successfully been ported to Switch and then you have proof that these are just poorly done.
