5 Games That Probably Aren't Coming Out This Year

2017 has begun and gamers are looking forward to another awesome year of gaming. Big titles like Horizon: Zero Dawn, Halo Wars 2, For Honor, and Persona 5 make up just the first few months of what promises to be a stellar year. However, there are a few games that are, release date or no release date, probably not coming out this year.

I don't mind Spider-Man not releasing alongside the movie, as I'd rather Insomniac has the time to develop it and release the game when it is ready.

I said this the other day, but I'll repeat it here.

Insomniac is one of the fastest, best budgeting, efficient developers in the entire industry and they have pretty much the entire team working on Spider-Man and the engine was done before Ratchet and Clanks development ended, since it is an upgraded version of the same engine.

It would not surprise me AT ALL if it is ready for Holiday 2017 and a big time PS4 exclusive Spider-Man game (marketed properly, bundled) can compete with all the big name titles of the Fall.

The release of the movie would be the ultimate advertising.

Aside from RDR2 and Shenmue 3...... who cares really?

So basically 4 PS4 exclusives from last years E3 (1 from this yr) and RDR2. I don't think there's a chance in hell that the 4 PS exclusives release this yr, as none of them have been tasked as such, which is fine because so many others will. That said, I believe just as strongly that RDR2 will release this fall, though usually Rockstars games release in June I believe, so there is that!

Other games on the bubble would be God of War, Crackdown, Detroit, And Dreams, though I don't believe any of these games have been touted to release this year either!

KillBill3097d ago (Edited 3097d ago )

It was already announced recently on twitter that Detroit and Dreams are NOT coming this year. It was brought up due to both being included in error on Sony's Exclusive 2017 release Ad that recently came out.

And what 4 PS4 exclusives are you talking on? Kingdom Hearts III is also slated to be released on Xbox One. http://www.kingdomhearts.co...

I wouldn't doubt FFVIIR is a 2018 release at all, but I still don't get why people say the developers are CyberConnect2. It's Square-Enix Business Division 1. CyberConnect2 is just helping out. Geez.

Ofcourse Square is putting their A-team on the game, they wouldn't lease it out to a small company like CyberConnect2.

Disagree can't accept reality. CyberConnect2 is a minor role in FFVIIR's development.

I appreciate the article but this guy must be living in a delayed universe, The reputation was ruined 10+ years ago and hasn't recovered since. As such people have voted with their wallets and stopped buying Xbox products in large amounts.

What reputation is this threatening exactly? 😂

Rumors of Turn 10 being either shut down or hit with massive lay offs is on the horizon.

The issue is MS will do something right only to do something very, very wrong. And they do this what seems calculative at this point. Doesn't matter what they do the Investors and leadership want more and more money an endless bottomless pit of purr insatiable greed. A company that acts like it's broke or hurting is what really, really infuriates me. They've surpassed apple again well over 3 trillion who acts like they're a million dollar company is fk stupid. Pivots and changes for no reason and can't do things for more than a year with out a pivot or changing their metrics.
