DualShockers Writes: "It’s been almost two years since we last saw footage of Omo Cat’s surreal psychological horror RPGmaker game OMORI, and three years since the game found substantial success on Kickstarter."
Ryan writes: "It's the narrative that makes Omori something special; subtlety being an important part of good storytelling."
The PlayStation Brahs:
"Omori is an incredible game, it is one of the most charming, heartwarming, terrifying, and saddest games I have ever played. It’s a game that captures my imagination, and is an experience best enjoyed by going in knowing nothing."
First announced for consoles during a Nintendo Indie World showcase, the very well-regarded PC indie game Omori has been confirmed for a PS4 release later this week. It's out on 17th June 2022, and is described as a horror RPG where it's your job to "explore a strange world full of colorful friends and foes".
If I am not mistaken, this game is similar to Earthbound. I heard good things about it.
Just watched someone's overview of a bunch of Earthbound/Undertale-esque titles, and this was one of them.
These are those sort of games I know I would enjoy, but am only ever aware of the really popular ones.
If this came up on Gamepass a few days earlier I definitely would have given it a shot, but I already know of all the insane directions the story takes. Definitely worthwhile for people who don't know about the game.
Pre-ordered this months ago for Switch. It says after July 1 it will be shipping out.
