Tough to compile it in such a compact list and a few surprises but these were the best games of 2016, even though there were some repeats for awards.

Most disappointing game Uncharted 4. Quantum Break not on the list

Quantum Break was touted as the Uncharted killer and Xbox Ones most anticipated game. But no, Uncharted 4 which won many game of the year awards is the most disappointing. I wonder if the author is a bit bias

This is the same arrogant guy who told us that TloU was not a good game because he said so, and then wrote another article saying Uncharted has no Identity and that TR was better... He must really have something againts Naughty Dog.

That and plus now choosing QB over it... Okay "to each their own" like he said, but his record is not good enough to take everything he says seriously.

Uncharted 4 is not a game without its flaws just like any game, but somehow its issues hold more weight than even QB which was more flawed and underwhelming. I knew that was the game that would expose the hypocrisy of the xbox fanboys that alwwys try to call Uncharted a movie for its cutscenes, yet a cliche, unnecessary TV show in the game is not problem and considered "taking chances" lol!!! As if U4 didn't take enough risk

Wow what a garbage list. Hilariously bad imho. Uncharted 4 was incredible and Quantum Break while not the worst couldn't even come close on their best day.

It's a really amazing game on the 3DS and Vita, I HIGHLY recommend it. Going into this I didn't think I would give it such high accolades but the more I looked at it the more obvious it was to me that it was one of the best games this year.

QB was a great game but vastly underrated. I categorize Gears as a shooter while QB was action-adventure

Nah I'm pretty sure you were on almost every negative Gears review saying how it doesn't deserve a bad score. QB was alright it just failed to make a lasting impression I think, I don't think it was as bad as some make it out to be but it's certainly not the best Action adventure game this year, but hey, to each his own.

@blackhavoc that legit was not me. I only took issue with some early mafia iiii reviews but there was an article about that. Never blasted gears reviews...hell I wasn't even online during that time on here bc my sisters wedding. Xbot is a blanket term....I like and own all 3 consoles I just wish PS4 had more original content...

More original? Like I don't know Last Guardian, Nioh, Detroit Become Human, Dreams, Dragonquest Builders, Gravity Rush, Nier Automata, Hellblade, Danganronpa, Virtues Last Reward series (Zero Time Dilemma), Steinsgate, Psychopass, Ni no Kuni 2, VR content and the list goes on. Not sure how much more original you can get considering Xbox One literally have NOTHING close to original like these titles. Nintendo at least has had Zero Time. But seriously that comment is the most uninformed idiotic thing I have heard today.

I never said pc only xbox, as the base on this site it predominately PS4. So the PS4 crowd is loudest on n4g and the majority don't lke xbox one or MS. I'm sure someone will say it was different back in the 360 era but I wasn't here then. So i'm basing this on what I see now.

Best shooter goes to gears of war? - I absolutely loved the gameplay. But the characters were bland to the point of face-palming. They can be summarised as the "get rich or die trying" type. They are a shadow of what cole train, baird and marcus were as team, the story was average as well. Having marcus return was cool though.

Uncharted 4 was a masterpiece and far from disappointing and this can actually be backed up with fact. It delivered in every aspect, and a 92 meta score illustrates this (highest rated exclusive of this gen and multiple GOTY awards) but i suppose great games will attract hate. It is most certainly a better action/adventure game than Quantum break.

Glad to see Quantum Break get a bit of recognition. It gets a lot of harsh criticism.
