Its a character in a game. Sexualtion orientation is anything but important. This isn't a story device this is just them saying hey look at us we have a gay guy. Aren't we so cool and progressive. Games with complex stories and backgrounds it would matter this though is just stupid.

So that we all feel like homosexuality is ok and we should be ok with it. The more its put out there and forced at being a normal thing the hope is that it will be treated as such and those who dislike it or disapprove of it will fade away. But they wont.

How important is each character's backstory and personality to the actual game? Because THAT should determine whether it's important or not. Welcome, yes.. important... ehh. Nothing wrong with diverse characters, but you're trying too hard to make a REALLY big deal about it.
