Nice! I bet the patch was huge.

KaiPow3109d ago

It's a little under 2.5GB. Guess that means no HDR got slipped in.

Neonridr3109d ago

no they mention in the article that there is no HDR support currently but that it could come at a later date.

Alexious3109d ago

A shame, I think HDR could be a game changer in The Division. I hope they're working on it.

The division was already 1080p on PS4, why doesn't anyone do their homework before writing an article....

Huh? Well, it improves the image quality on the Pro, though.

I would have liked a higher resolution because this game feature so much small detail that it would have benefited from a higher resolution. IMO I prefer resolution over ramped up visuals (so much that I stick with that in pretty much every game which offers a choice).

division was native 1080p on the base PS4?

Better shadows and reflections should make the already incredible looking game, astonishing. I think people forget that the game already looks awesome. Any boost to that, is a good one. If we get 1080p with high or higher PC settings for shadows and reflections and then HDR in a future patch... the game is going to be one of the best looking out. While 1440p would be nice, my guess is, it would be a trade off for those better features mentioned. Something Im sure they went back and forth on while making the patch. My guess is, the better shadows and reflections gave an overall better, more noticeable boost to the visuals. Also, we dont know what else was changed, as the patch notes were brief.

Hope the HDR patch comes soon, as I cant imagine how good it will look.

Played it a bit this morning. Looks great. Still, I'd like to see it with a higher res, too. I even think, this would be even better beyond 1440p (and regular shadows if it must).

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno809d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic809d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman809d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
