Most underrated game of 2016.

kraenk123107d ago (Edited 3107d ago )

It's amazing in my book. Love the design and humour and overall weirdness. The soundtrack is great as well. Suda51 never disappoints.

Summons753107d ago

It's pretty okay. Played it for a few days, now I just have no desire to play anymore. It's fun but it's nothing special.

Garethvk3107d ago

What other games would you compare it to?

kraenk123107d ago

@Gareth

The Souls series I guess.

Summons753107d ago

@Garethvk

I'm going to have to say a little Baroque mixed with the Soul Series and a spice of ZombiU thrown in for good measure with all the Suda51 weirdness you would know his games for.

Eiyuuou3107d ago

I might have been inclined to agree with you... If they decided to bloody release it in my country!

Like, wth? What did Belgium ever do to you?

Garethvk3107d ago

It is all that rich chocolate and wonderful architecture you have.

sampson31213107d ago

it will be released there soon I'm sure.

Garethvk3107d ago

How is the control system for it?

Silly gameAr3107d ago (Edited 3107d ago )

It is. I've been pretty much addicted to it since it came out. You can play the game spending a cent of real money, but death medal comes in pretty handy for the higher level floors.

They played it up big at several game conventions from E3 to PSX.

sampson31213107d ago

"Players can purchase variety of items and features such as time reduction and extra health, but the game is not pay-to-win."

I'm so addicted to this game.

amazing!

Garethvk3107d ago

I will check it out. I sent the guy who did the interview to play it at PAX as I had meetings and same with E3 so I missed it.

BlakHavoc3107d ago (Edited 3107d ago )

Most surprising goty.

DigitalRaptor3106d ago (Edited 3106d ago )

Not my GOTY, but it really is fantastic fun.

I feel like it's not getting the attention it rightly deserves though.

How about an official level editor for Boltgun?

I’ll get Space Marine 2 when it’s cheaper. I don’t pay more than half price for short games.

Glen Schofield: Dead Space Wouldn’t Be Greenlit Today—Publishers Are Afraid to Take Risks

Sector sat down with Glen Schofield—creator of Dead Space and The Callisto Protocol—during the Game Developers Session (GDS) in Prague to discuss the evolution of the game industry, the current challenges of AAA development, and why it's become so hard to get original ideas off the ground in today’s risk-averse environment.

1nsomniac5d ago

It’s easy enough to say that, but why? It feels weird to me when developers say this but common sense would tell you everything about the idea itself should work.

The idea of the concept seems like a winner at whichever angle you look at it so why would publishers not greenlight it?

… it’s almost as if the majority of publishers are massively incompetent at their jobs. But there’s no surprise to anyone there.
