If true 2017 is going to be freaking massive!! Can't wait !!

DarkZane3116d ago (Edited 3116d ago )

But it's not. September 30th is a placeholder, which is even more true since that's a saturday.

February 2nd isn't true either as it's a thursday.

Unless it's a tuesday or a friday, dates are always wrong now.

Chevalier3116d ago

Agreed. They're placeholder dates so they can set up for preorders is all.

Reibooi3115d ago

One must also keep in mind that they said the game was quite a ways off. I would love to have it in 2017 but I would honestly not be surprised for it to be mid or late 2018. I mean they said the scale of this game is going to be much larger then Witcher 3 which is already kinda mind blowing to me. I would like for them to take all the time they need so we get some as good if not better then Witcher.

That said it would be cool if we got to see what the game is some time next year. But maybe they will pull a Fallout 4 and only show it when it's really close to release.

attilayavuzer3116d ago

Calling it now, holiday 2077 release.

starchild3116d ago

There's no way CDPR even know when they'll be done with the game at this point. I'm not expecting to see it for quite some time (even though it's one of my most anticipated games).

Deeke3115d ago

I HIGHLY doubt that Cyberpunk 2077 will release in 2017. CDPR has already delivered a roadmap on the upcoming projects

https://gyazo.com/53df2f61e...

"We can say that the accuracy of this date is high, given the rumors of the game's departure date and the fact that the developers have a date for the game but do not explain it."

Yeah, no. Just no.

It's not going to be done by 2017. Sorry guys.

Relientk773117d ago

I'd be really impressed if this game came out in 2017, was expecting like 2018

OB1Biker3117d ago

I dont think the devs could give a date even if they wanted to.

carcarias3116d ago

I agree, especially since CDPR always seem to push for more and are always so ambitious. I mean, they said it's gonna be bigger than TW3 and how many delays did that get? Two if iirc.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see it sooner rather than later (as long as they don't rush it, which I doubt) and who knows? Maybe with their previous experience with TW3 and everything they've learnt, plus the allegedly much larger team working on it, they're managing to be faster and more efficient with this game's development.

Timesplitter143116d ago (Edited 3116d ago )

By now we've seen enough "Online store lists game's release date" articles to know they don't actually mean anything

Kashima3117d ago

if this game focusing on multiplayer then i'll pass.

Grap3116d ago

And who said it will be focusing on multiplayer?
sigh some people..

joab7773116d ago

Put your faith in CDPR. They never let you down. If they don't think we will like it, it won't happen.

CrimsonWing693116d ago (Edited 3116d ago )

I don't think it's "focusing" on multiplayer I think it will have some form of multiplayer whether it be competitive, cooperative, or community-based. Not all multiplayer is bad if you're losing your mind thinking it will be competitive multiplayer.

So chill, grab a coke and have a smile. I'm pretty sure this will still be a heavily focused single player RPG.

blackout3116d ago

Multiplayer equals LONG GEVITY. Story is cool but multiplayer gives me the BANG for my money spent.

Angeljuice3115d ago

Not for me, I prefer a game with a single player emphasis and a strong replayability factor.

I finished XCom 2, then went straight back in with a higher difficulty (the procedural generation of levels helps make it hugely replayable).

I haven't touched the online element. Most multiplayer modes lose too much of the feel of the real game and remind me how irritating other players invading your gamespace can be.

Kubark3116d ago

Just like The Witcher 3 focused on multiplayer, right? CDPR focus on single player story driven RPGs. It's a fair assumption that Cyberpunk will take that approach.

Not a chance it's coming February 2nd 2017, more like 2018 or 2019.

XXanderXX3116d ago (Edited 3116d ago )

Am willing to settle on holiday 2017 , would be nice release time .

Please some one enlighten me to the disagrees of my request .

@poppinslops Hey am just hoping for a release around the same time as Scorpio.
But if they want to make nice am willing to settle on a Scorpio Patch for Witcher 3

poppinslops3116d ago (Edited 3116d ago )

CDPR spent roughly 5 years developing Wild Hunt - not to mention the 'Blood and Wine' expansion, which released in May... With the way they work (1 game at a time), there's just NO WAY that Cyberpunk - which is said to be bigger and more ambitious than any of The Witcher titles - will release next year.

Edit: The XO version of the Witcher 3 uses dynamic scaling - tech that will allow for a performance boost on Scorpio, regardless of CDPR... that said, any gains are unlikely to be as impressive as a dedicated Pro/Scorpio 'remaster', which is why Cyberpunk's post-2017 release is good news - all but guarantees a day 1 Scorpio patch!

zivtheawesome3117d ago

yea.. no.. no way a game release date would be announced 3 months from release

XXanderXX3116d ago (Edited 3116d ago )

Didn't MS mention a game at E3 and 3 months later it was released think it was FH3 .

IndominusRex3116d ago

Yeah it was Forza Horizon 3... But the thing is we knew they were going to announce it. Since its a rotation everyear

thejigisup3115d ago (Edited 3115d ago )

Didn't fallout release shortly after announcement?

Notellin3115d ago

It was announced in June and released it November. I remember it being one of the quickest turn arounds although everyone knew it was coming.

thejigisup3115d ago

@notellin, I wish more games would be released that way. Often these days haves don't live up to the three+ year wait

Cyberpunk 2077's 2.3 Update Opens a Pandora's Box the Game Can't Close

Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a new update after developers previously stated it no longer would, bringing the possibility of more still to come.

hollabox9d ago

I'm hoping the update fixes their poor FSR 3 implementation, and add FSR 4. FSR 2 looks better than FSR 3 in CP2077 by a wide margin. On my 7900XT I just use XESS if I want to add RT at custom 3K resolutions. Already beat the main game, but half way through Phantom Liberty expansion. I would like to get back to it later on this month.

anast9d ago

I have more hours in this game than any other. I would happily put more into it.

MastaMold8d ago

I second this and a PS5 PRO patch too please.

RhinoGamer888d ago

I finished it and had a blast, wish there was a new game + option.

Demon-kun4d ago

I wanna be able to dual wield it would add a decent bit I feel hell if they wanted they could even let us dual wield like knives and swords as well or something just sounds like fun to me

Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2: a cutting-edge game translates well to Nintendo's console hybrid

Few games among the Nintendo Switch 2 launch line-up can match Cyberpunk 2077 in putting the system through its paces. It's a staple of our PC benchmarking suite for good reason: the open world design is a solid stressor for any CPU, while its effects-heavy battles challenge GPU resources as well. This Switch 2 release has clearly been a big undertaking for developer CD Projekt Red too, who produced the port in-house with unique optimisations for Switch 2's ARM-based architecture. It's also remarkably the Ultimate Edition of the game, with both the core adventure and the more taxing Phantom Liberty expansion bundled in - an extra portion that proved too demanding to justify a last-gen console release, and was instead restricted to PS5 and Series X/S, and yet here it is running on Switch 2.

To cut to the chase, Switch 2 offers a truly viable way to enjoy Cyberpunk, either in a portable format or docked under a TV. However, CDPR has shot for the stars in its ambition to include Phantom Liberty as well, and it's here that Switch 2 hits some technical limits - with frame-rates struggling as we explore its newer Dog Town region. Still, that aside, there's a lot to admire in the game's engineering for Nintendo's new console overall, and how competitive it is in comparison with other consoles.

I am happy for CDPR. Their hard work paid off because the Switch 2 version are always in the top 5 Switch 2 launch game sales.

jznrpg9d ago

Not much launched with it besides ports so it should be expected I guess.

OMNlPOTENT9d ago

I mean.. what did the PS5 launch with? One exclusive in Demon's Souls?

repsahj8d ago

@Omnipotent
Not just PS5, Series X has zero launch games. XD

DivineHand1259d ago (Edited 9d ago )

This may be one of the weakest launch lineups Nintendo has ever had, with Mario Kart being the only first party game, but Cyberpunk 2077 will definitely give you tremendous value for your money.

One tip I can give people who have never played the game is to first read books from the cyberpunk subgenre. This will allow you to appreciate the story much better. If you find yourself asking which life path is the best to take at the start of the game, in this case it is Corpo, Streetkid, and Nomad. You likely don't know enough about the genre, and certain things will fly right over your head. While it is not mandatory, the game will be 10 times better if you read or listen to some books first.

Some books I have enjoyed in that genre are:
Cyber Dreams by Plum Parrot,
Stray Cat Strut by RavensDagger
Tower of Somnus by Cale Plamann
Mist Runner by Nicholas Searcy

If you can only read or listen to 1 book, then I recommend Cyber Dreams by Plum Parrot. It is the closest thing to Cyberpunk 2077.

anast9d ago

Or play the TTRPG which is was based on.

Profchaos9d ago

I'd say its stronger than the switch as Mario kart has a broader appeal than zelda.

It was also a better launch line-up than the gamecube and possibly wii u

DivineHand1259d ago

@Profchaos the WiiU likely had the worst of the bunch which is partly why the system failed.

The gamecube had smash bros melee that launched 2 months after the initial release and that is one of the best games to release on that console. I assume every gamecube owner would be happy with that game.

The switch had Breath of the Wild which is still considered one of the best games of all time. I remember playing through that game and unlocked every equipment, upgraded every equipment to the max, found all the dragons, defeated all the Lynels and completed all the shrines in that game before defeating Ganon at the end. It was a good time from start to finish and made up for the lack of other launch games.

I just think that if they had us waiting that long for the switch 2, they should have more than just 1 or 2 first party games ready within the launch window. If we had at least gotten a trailer for a new 3D mario I would be extremely happy. With the current switch 2 lineup, there is no draw to go out and get it immediately like a new console launch should make you feel. Right now the main appeal is to provide a quality of life update to play switch 1 games.

OMNlPOTENT9d ago

There is also a book directly related to the universe of Cyberpunk 2077, it's called "No Coincidence". I thought it was a pretty good read.

Kornholic8d ago

"One tip I can give people who have never played the game is to first read books from the cyberpunk subgenre."

If somebody gave me this advice before I started my first Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough, I wouldn't have even bought the game in the first place.

DivineHand1258d ago

True because I wouldn't have played it either. It's just that I read those books after playing the game and thinking back, a lot of the motivations of each character started making more sense.

I just wanted to through that tip out there to recommend someone try to understand the cyberpunk genre more before playing. They will get more out of the game.

badz1499d ago

40 vs 60 fps is not something that I would even consider calling "competitive"

1nsomniac9d ago

Then you don’t know enough about the subject you’re trying to talk about..

badz1499d ago

hahaha...what? are you serious right now? the Switch 2 is not a PC where you can just change the graphical settings to get to 60fps...Unless CDPR released a patch to make it run at 60fps, that is.

As of right now, it's stuck at 40fps at best and that too with DLSS from quite a low base res already. so yeah...it's not competitive.

Profchaos9d ago

100% 40 isn't a arbitrary choice its a strategic choice because it opens up access to supporting technology on the console

Good-Smurf9d ago

DF are Nintendo's occasional bootlickers after that blatant Zelda games ad scandal.
Games like CP2077 are meant to be played on big console or powerful PC on a big screen.
Got to love how they're simp for full price purchase of 5-year-old game and still getting the worst version to play on.

1nsomniac9d ago

Wow you guys don’t let up for a second trying to blame DF for anything you can pick out the sky at any given moment. It’s embarrassing dude.

It’s always DF are bootlickers for Nintendo today, Microsoft yesterday, Sony last week. Make your mind up people… pick a side and stick to it. Sounds so stupid when you’re trying to make a point that some company is biased but that no one can make their mind up who the company is biased towards any given day of the week.

stoney1019d ago

Yep, the amount of hate they get is ridiculous. The funny thing is if you actually look at the comments on their early switch 2 videos people are slating them for not giving it enough praise and constantly comparing it to ps4.

ZycoFox9d ago

They had a "Sponsored by Nintendo" video not long ago, it literally says so at the start.

I trust them for showing frame rate analysis and they're decent for that, but their overall review for Nintendo is overrated, Mario Kart is the same game it has always been.

Really the only one that got close to topping DKR was MKDS.. So it's no wonder it's often ranked as the highest rated Mario Kart.

repsahj9d ago

It's obvious that you're not following DF. In the weeks leading up to the Switch 2's release, didn't you know that DF had so many articles downplaying the Switch 2 because they believed it was far from being more powerful than the PS4?

Phantom Liberty is a part of the game. If it can't run it. It can't run the game.
