Pure Review - Gameplayer

Does this gorgeous SSX on four wheels have what it takes to beat Motorstorm at its own game?

Gameplayer takes Pure around for a few laps and tests the theory...

Pure graphics = Nothing but bloom.
Motorstorm graphics = Photo realistic.
Motorstorm gameplay = Brutal off-road racing / Tons of different vehicle classes.
Pure gameplay = Stunt / Racing / ATV only.
Motorstorm stages = Multi-route / 10 times bigger than those in Pure.

Gameplayer truly is a retarded website for trying to compare the two. Motorstorm can be compared to Baja or Fuel but not Pure.

Who cares what other people say. You get nothing out of it do you? I think Pure is phenomenal and Motorstorm is pure bliss, but you can't compare the two. I think that Pure deserves more credit then its getting, and the same goes for Motorstorm. The problem with both games is that they are coming from a genre that has sort of a bad track record. I myself have pretty much gave up on anything offroad after buying Mx. vs. Atv last December. I actually thought the genre was dead, but Pure and Motorstorm has proven not only day one purchases, but these 2 games might make me put down COD4 and Socom more often. Also, Midnight club is gonna be SIC!

My demo impression of Motorstorm 2 don`t show me any huge improvments Mr ali. There wasn`t even any track deformation, not hating on it, or defending the tard thaT cough crap, just being reaslist. Still getting it though, it seems faster, much much faster. Pure and MS2 are two different games that offer each their own advantages to warrant getting them both.

Well, I don't really think they should be compared, but since it's happening anyway I will say I prefer Motorstorm to Pure. To be fair though, pure isn't my type of game. I don't like the stunt system or ATVs.

Like the cheap knock off version or something? Pure is an ATV racerw/tricks. Its pretty cool. Its not in the same league as Motorstorm in gameplay, or graphics. Its just different.

The way reviewers spin it, its to say "See you don't need to buy motorstorm! you have Pure" and idiots come in here and argue over it.

I'd get Pure, if the demo was good. But it wasn't. Its flattering itself if it thinks its anything like SSX as well. The graphics were also very bloomed out and generic. But hey, we are talking about a multiplat aren't we?

Anyone who has played them both should know this. I have no clue why people compare the 2? Do you see atv's blow up or rip into sheds in pure? NO.. Do you see people doing 360's and flips in the air in motorstorm 2? NO..

Pure is all about tricks and thats it.. Which to me seems like it will get old and the fun factor will be gone in no time..

Motorstorm is all about racing, carnage, and extreme wreckage. I prefer this over pure..

But if your into doing tricks pure is your game..

I swear if the media gives pure higher ratings than motorstorm 2 something is definitely wrong with them.. I have a good feeling its going to happen too because its a multi plat game and M2 is a ps3 exclusive..

I've played both and motorstorm to me is such a better game.. More intense and more fun.. And motorstorm actually pays more intension on the racing aspect than doing tricks..

Pure also has no split screen like the 1st motorstorm..

I played the demo. It really is a great game, and I guess it just goes to show you that there are still some reviewers left out there who don't cream over graphics alone. And the graphics are superb anyway, but it's the game play that rules.

Question: is it made off of the same engine as DiRT or Grid? It just has that superbly awesome trademark look of the two.

BTW, Grid owns any racer out there. Graphics are top notch and the sense of speed is thrilling. Love the replays and rewind/time shift features.

The demo was boring... I hated it. As soon as it asked me to do a trick I lost interest.. (Like hey, how about we do a trick now.. more like shut your mouth game and let me race..)

On the other hand I did love the motorstorm: pacific rift demo, and its an old build but that was 10x more fun, the graphics were great and that was irrelevant to the fun, the game is simply fun to play, and with split screen even more so now.
