It also uses the same charger as my phone, so yet another plus.

Fishy Fingers3110d ago

Was wondering what port they'd use. Makes sense to adopt a standard connection and make charging on the go far more convenient.

Nintendo seem to be getting everything right with the Switch, it's one fantastic rumour after the next

Exactly, rumours, we shouldn't be having to guess and hoping for rumours so close to release.

deafdani3110d ago

I hope this is true. 5 to 8 hour battery life would be pretty good, actually.

vikingland13110d ago

That's better than I expected, my launch DS4 only gets 3 to 5 hrs.

deafdani3110d ago

Yeah, mine too. But to be honest, the DS4's poor battery life never made any sense, because it doesn't have a screen or anything similar like the Wii U's Gamepad.

The DS3's battery life was great, and then there's the Wii U Pro controller that lasts for 80 hours...

The second generation of DS4 now lasts more than 8 hours, though.

Moonman3110d ago

I was hoping for 6 to 7 so 8 is very awesome....and hopefully that is at max settings with 8 or more at low settings.....

deafdani3110d ago

The rumor says it's 5 to 8 depending on settings, so 8 is the longest.

Still better than the Wii U gamepad's 3 to 5 hours, and that was only a controller with a screen.

vikingland13110d ago

Yes I agree, I have the Uncharted DS4 and it lasts way longer than my launch DS4. I wonder how the new controller for the PS4P lasts.

MetroidFREAK213110d ago

I sure hope battery life is improved. That's kind of the pivotal part the whole unit itself

Its good that the battery life is getting a boost. Pretty hyped! XD

Tripled the switch launch numbers, yeah Nintendo's domination of the Japanese market is going smooth

And take note. This is just for retail sales only; sales from the Nintendo Japanese website are not yet included.

Tempting... but I have to say I am more of an arcade deluxe cab fan. I loved the ones for Galaxy Force, Thunder Blade and After Burner.
