Back in August, I experienced something I knew was pretty special, something I know has been every Star Wars fan’s wet dream since they first saw A New Hope on Betamax.

yep, that should be clarified in the title. Not all PSVR owners can get access to this. That being said, I definitely own Battlefront. So I will be checking this out this evening.

You can use PSVR with any game, right? I thought it has 3 screen settings or whatever, with one being IMAX-esque.

You can, but with the game's that' don't have support its only a simulated big screen in front of you. Not actual VR.

Yes you can but that's cinema mode.
I'm talking about vr mode.

@ibrake4naps, if you hold the PS button on the controller, the option comes up on the right hand side (possibly only if you have the VR headset turned on) for you to choose the screen size.

The small screen stays in front of the headset wherever you turn, so it's nice to watch a film while laying down. The medium one is the standard size and the large screen is HUGE - you have to turn your head to see the far left and right of the screen, like being in the front row at the cinema.

Really interested to see if Criterion gets on a full VR game. I really enjoyed this mission, and think they could do a whole lot more with this demo

Tried this and they need to release a full game! Trench runs, flying A, B, X, and Y wings, taking on AT-ATs and Star Destroyers! Do it Criterion!

The VR mission is, ehmm, okay. It's amazing to be in an X-Wing for (virtual) reals! But I hoped the mission would be more or longer, or would have more than one. I should have known tho of course, it's just a teaser of sorts, but I want more, MORE!

I wonder why the interviewer didn't ask Criterion if they would port this demo to any other VR format (specifically Vive and Rift)? Seemed like a pertinent question, unless I missed something.

maybe because it has been asked before, the answer was no, it is a psvr game.

It's a mini game that's dlc for a game that's true home is on the PC, I wouldn't be so sure of it's exclusivity. It's probably like most PSVR's "exclusives", timed.

I tried PSVR the other day, playing Driveclub and it sold me. Seriously, you REALLY need to experience it for yourself to know if it's for you or not. I noticed some low-res renders, but maybe because the Driveclub game was not a full game (it was part of the demo disc)?

Anyway, I want one when GT Sport comes out. I want it!

At least the resident evil demo showed really great premise for resident evil 7

The best part of the mission was sitting in the cockpit of the X-wing, which was very well detailed and felt very cosy and real. The rest was pretty disappointing - couldn't barrel roll, flying and turning speed was very low. Didn't really feel like I was flying a super fast spacecraft. It felt as though they had nerfed it a bit so that nobody got any motion sickness.

PSVR is awesome but I'm still waiting for a killer experience. Best for me so far (in terms of immersion only): Windlands & The Kitchen Demo - though I really like Rush of Blood and Battlezone

Hey, if you haven't already, you should try playing the opening hour of Resi 7 in VR, as they just patched it in last week. Play the tutorial, see how crap the 30 degree nap-turning is and when you actually play the game, change the settings to 'smooth turning' and increase the turning speed a bit. It's the best thing on VR, in my opinion, really great and I'm now day one purchasing Resi 7!

Played it last night was awesome. A great look of what can be in PSVR/VR

While it was a cool experience, the ships handling was clunky and slow, and the "experience" is about 15-20 mins long.

lets hope they make something more with this, while it was neat it wasnt that hype.
