Rad Rodgers: World One Review - Gaming Respawn

GR Reviewer Derek Miller says:

"Overall, I think that Rad Rodgers: World One is a fairly decent platformer that didn't really take hold of me too much. The concept isn't a bad one, but other than being set in the 90s era, it doesn't feel retro to me in the way that a title like Unbox did. It looks great, and the controls are solid, but levels have that tendency to just be long enough to have had me just wanting it over already instead of searching for any other secrets. When I reached the boss, my time played was still under 4 hours, which came as a shock as it felt like I had easily put at least 20 into it. It was a bit draining to play through. Dusty as a whole probably needs to be rethought as how to approach him. The Pixelverse is uneven in its levels, and Dusty's attack doesn't seem to have any practical purpose. I hate to use the "P-word", but the potential is there. The actual platforming is fun, and the graphics are top notch. It's just a shame that it gets dragged down by levels that are long more often than they are fun, as well as the Pixelverse being a good idea that doesn't seem to materialize into a fun addition and rather an uneven experience."

Rad Rodgers Review | Invision Game Community

Written by Nathan O'Grady - It has been a LONG time since edgy, 90s-style platformers have really made an impact on me. The last, perhaps, was Conker, back in the days of the original Xbox. Those days, I think I enjoyed the game both for its quality and for the fact that if my parents had fully understood what it was then I probably wouldn’t have been playing it. Rad Rodgers, developed by Slipgate Studios and published by THQ Nordic, feels different. Now, it seems I have a new-found appreciation for a platforming title that has the kahunas to say what it thinks and do what it wants. That line in itself describes exactly what Rad Rodgers is all about.

I get the impression this hasn't sold too well on consoles, which is a shame. It's far better than most modern run and gun platformers.

Rad Rodgers Review | TheXboxHub

Neil writes: "Rad Rodgers tells the story of young Rad as he gets whisked into a strange retro world with Dusty, his trusty old games console. Now, Rad most certainly plays too many video games and this world plays on the fact that us gamers are a strange lot. With the foul mouthed, super lewd Dusty egging Rad on every step of the way, helping out with a power slam and edge grab when he can, this is a game that will very quickly bring a smile to the face of any mid-90s gaming freak."
