Its insane that Death Stranding will look better than the Game Awards trailer. It seems we are going to reach CGI visuals in games sooner than expected.

Nobody knows game engines as well as I do, let me tell you. They're bringing their shaders, their textures, they're rapists...wait what!?

Decima..

@imo,

You know something we don't?

Sevir3123d ago

Decima is beast! It's insane that Sony is letting a 3rd party use it's first party tools.

And it makes sense for Kojima in this regard. MGS5 took much longer because he was simultaneously creating FOX engine which Konami took from him after the fall out. Given the scope of this project and the time he wants to launch, developing a brand new engine would cost more money and prolong the development of the game.

Sony probably wanted to get him up and running as smoothly as possible and eliminate the cost over head of footing the R&D cost of a new engine when they are already publishing the game.

GG and Kojima are a match made in heaven...

Can't wait for Horizon and I will keep my eyes on Death Stranding

Leave it to the mind of Kojima for this. I just love that he's so passionate about his work. I too believe that the industry would benefit a lot by sharing tech. Could benefit even more if they were as passionate about the things they're involved with like Kojima is. These days it seems most are more worried about money and DLC than creating a masterpiece or following their dream

Do you not see this happening during development? Like, why are we apologizing after the fact instead of stopping it during development?

anast2h ago

It's all good, as long as the price of the product decreases.

I was unhappy with DT and have spent far less time in it than any other expansion but it's things like this that makes me respect Yoshi P. It's rare for such a high profile developer to be so candid in his assessment on a live game.
