Yeah I can't explain the amount of emotions I got when I saw this. It was like a drug I had goosebumps and when I heard joels voice wow. You guys want to know why Sony consistently dominates every console generation?

The Last of Us was brand new in 2013 and we're now wetting our pants and in tears for a trailer for its sequel.

The only thing that is certain every generation from Sony is that we will get something that is new that will start its own series.

Nothing about how you felt about PlayStation 3 might affect your decision to purchase PlayStation 4 and nothing on PlayStation 4 might affect your decision to purchase PlayStation 5.

But consistently supporting properties this way, they are essentially allowing gamers to always have a reason to pick up a Playstation

Sorry folks give up your preconceived notions on what you think you're going to get during a PlayStation generation. They always consistently bring out something new and support it long-term if it's successful. So basically in 2013 Sony built up a small install base of fans that didn't need to know anything about PlayStation prior to purchase.

New intellectual properties is the driving force of this industry people want to continuously play something new that conveys different ideas.

As of right now Sony is unrivaled in doing this and I would love for Microsoft and Nintendo to seriously start adopting this, in fact I would love all publishers to start adopting this method and at least having several teams which jobs are solely to create something new every generation.

I'd understand your comment if it were in a Horizon or Days article, but it doesn't make much sense to me here. TLOU was my favorite PS3 game, and made the purchase of PS4 a no brainer for me.

Since launch, my favorite games have been UC Collection, UC4, Ratchet, Bloodborne, and Infamous. All great on their own, but built on years of enjoying the prior games from those studios on PS3. There's also a reason so many are pining for those Crash, FFVII, and KH sequels.

Now I'm really looking forward to a new IP in Horizon, but GoW, P5, and GT are my 2017 PS4 guaranteed purchases. Again, that's because I had preconceived notions that those franchises, like TLOU, would continue into this generation.

I guess I'm confused because this is literally a sequel to the best game of last gen.

This has nothing do with "fanboy" as I own a Windows 10 gaming PC and very much plan to buy anything MS makes that peaks my interset. I'm still a gamer first. Scalebound and Sea Of Theives is something I want to play.

In fact, what he said was true and even what you said was true. BUT... World Wide, the PS3 was beating down Xbox 360 in terms of sales comparison. Everyone who didn't read chartz and instead opted for truthful information during last generation knows this already.

Only the UK and USA were the Xbox 360 selling more than PS3, consistently. Xbox 360 had bundles, deals and more timed exclusive content than you can shake a house at and it still got shoved behind when the dust settled, by a rival that was about 200 bucks more expensive for a good chunk of the generation.

sorry but you are being a complete fan boy... In no way did sony "dominate" last gen in fact for the majority of it was the exact opposite. The ps4 is doing well but it isn't dominant either it's just doing very well, you make it out as if the xbox one is non existent it isn't, it has some fantastic games on it. One of the best racing games ever made and a great line up of MP focused exclusives (That sony does not have) Nintendo also had some solid games on the wii U it just didn't have the staying power like the wii which funnily enough did better than both last gen. So once again stop with the BS.

All consoles have great games just because the PS has become some kind of god console some how despite this gen not really having any where near as many great games. PS tbh are incredibly lucky that they have a studio like Naughty Dog without them what really is there for people to go mad over. Plus the ps4 is the better hardware for less that is basically 80% the reason why it has done so well.

Ya they're very fortunate to have ND but let's not pretend like they've gotten a great reputation as a publisher that provides great exclusives because of one studio. GG, SSM, SP, and now possibly Bend all are good studios. They also have 2nd party support so while they dont own these studios, they make software exclusive to the console, teams like From Software and Kojima Productions, also Atlas. We can't know a game will be 100% successful, I 100% get that. Lair, Heavenly Sword, Folklore etc didn't all set the world on fire.......but its the fact that Sony NEVER STOPPED making new series based on this.

MS doesn't look like they have any real interest in making new series bud. They either don't own the team, don't own the IP or a combination which tells me they have little focus on making a new series. They would have been working on one for years if that was the case.

Just like i buy ps4 because i expect uncharted and god of war( which by the way are both on number 4). Ms have possibly released as many new ips this gen as sony. Need i remind you titanfall started on xbox. Ssod, quantum break and ryse are all great fun to play. Even recore had very good moments. They release new ips, but people that don't currently own an xbox brush them aside and pretend the only xbox games that exist are gears and halo. Its a very random thing.
Now back to the topic above TLOU 2 is not a new ip and it will be my most anticipated game this gen. It makes me happy that companies take the time to revisit the best games and offer new installments.

I will agree that they should try to own more intellectual properties yes. But you asked where the sequels are to any of their new games. Well if you put it like that there are no sequels to any of sonys new games announced either. So as it stands they are in the same situation.
As for new games that they own it comes back to what i said about people not paying attention. D4, Ori, kinect sports rivals, ( recore maybe), crimson dragon, powerstar golf plus more. Admittedly most of these games were pretty average ( except ori) , but still they are making new 1st party ips. Its just not easy to make the next halo, not everyone has naughty dogs talent. Plus sea of thieves is a big new ip proving they are branching out.
As for wanting a new gears etc of course i want a new game from my favourite xbox series.

The Last Of Us 2, Knack 2. We are only 3 years in this gen. Horizon means to the community, Sony is making, Sony owns the IP, Sony owns the team, look out for a sequel.

Naughty Dog does it again. That trailer....hauntingly beautiful. I expect greatness because all they deliver has been great. I'm anticipating plenty of great titles....Horizon Zero Dawn, Cyberpunk 2077, God of War, Mass Effect....but The Last of Us Part II is top of the heap, no question. Remember Uncharted 4 everyone thought Nathan was going to die based on the trailers. It's smart because it keeps people from trying to spoil the plot while they can make awesomeness behind the scenes.

Theory going around that Joel is actually dead, and that's a hallucination she's seeing. He does seem to just appear like an illusion at the front door, and is completely unscathed (unlike Ellie). It would also fit the bill of her saying she's going to kill every one of them - "they've" killed Joel.

I saw it more as Ellie ran off on her own killing the fire flies while Joel ran off to save her and bring her back. He doesn't want Ellie to be like him and question her about what she is doing.

Of course, what is going to really set the stage is all that has transpired in the intervening years now that Ellie is a young woman and no longer a girl....Naughty Dog is going to knock this one out of the galaxy....I truly feel this one is going to up the ante unlike we have seen, even from the likes of Naughty Dog. It may become their Magnum Opus.

How so?. I found her to be just a regular kid that was thrust into an impossible situation. She didn't complain or nag or anything to be annoying. I really felt for her a lot more than any other character that I have come across in gaming. Seeing her innocence slip away because of the uncompromising environment she found herself in was just brutal.

I was sceptical about a second game first but when Druckmann said both parts together are going to complete the picture I believed him. ND have all my trust in the world. Just hearing all of them talk so passionately about the game at the panel washed away all my doubts.

Seriously, though, this franchise is about irredeemable assholes all around. And when nobody is sympathetic trying to make me care is a titanic task. I loved old God of War games and they were too about irredeemable assholes, but never once did the game seriously try and make me feel serious attachment to even Kratos, save everything happening was put into a fantastic setting, but here it is just people killing people and fully ignoring that the only sane course of action would be cooperation first and foremost. They may all rot, for all I care and that is exactly why I see no point in buying this.

Not only should you not kill people that are outright trying to murder you...but you should also let a girl who has basically become you're daughter get raped because you need to be a good guy. maybe this game wont be utterly laughable in enemy variety. i got bored half way through the 1st game when i realized i was fighting the same basic enemy over and over again. man with gun, man with bite and man with clicks. with the occasional fatty. i basically pushed on just for the story. and yet, people pretend to forget about naughty dogs embarrassing enemy design and variety. i guess bias can be blinding to factual critisizm.

well i hope the devs stop being lazy and actually be creative this time. i remember drukmann wanted to put infected animals in lou1 but said it wasnt realistic enough.........that is the dumbest, most cringe worthy excuse for lack of creativity and laziness i have ever heard. its okay drukmann, you guys dont have the talent or imagination for those types of design. just hire people that do or keep your mouth shut before embarrassing yourself any further.
