PJ O'Reilly: "It feels like such an almighty shame that a game this beautiful, with such a compelling premise, should be let down by a failure to include anything approaching interesting gameplay."
Robinson: The Journey has just received Vive and Oculus Touch Control Support on PC.
This is Crytek’s first release for HTC Vive.
Lifelike vegetation is coming to CryEngine thanks to the studio’s VR experimentations.
Pretty much the same story for most VR games. Restricted gameplay or just less gameplay. But none of that matters because immersion right? immersion trumps gameplay and is the future and you never get bored with it. Kappa
My best friend has the HTC Vive and a pretty nice rig and I picked up the PSVR before thanksgiving. I really wanted to pick this game up when I bought the PSVR but I stopped myself. I played most of the demos and bought games like Rush of Blood and was happy with all that price/content. As for Robinson The journey and the others that are 59.99? I'd wait for the reviews and a nice price cut. in my opinion the prices and what you get for that can be screwy. But that is why we have the internet, to see if a purchase is worth it or if you should pass that game or wait until the price matches what you think that experience is worth.
I brought my PS VR to our thanksgiving and let my family try it. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, 20 plus people through out that day. Not one person was left not impressed and my Aunts and uncles who are 45-60 couldn't get over how far tech has come. You could see the astonishment in their face.
Vive is awesome and honestly PSVR is too. Anyone who says that VR is a gimmick or a fad is purposefully burring their head in the sand. Whatever reason you have for doing that is on you. Every VR review or article I've come into I've seen the same kind of comments from people who to me don't sound like they ever tried it. Maybe they are waiting for their preferred console to support VR...who knows. But as the PC guys have known for a while VR IS THE FUTURE. Sorry if that some how ruffles your undies but it is the facts. AR and VR are going to become more and more main stream in our lives wither its for gaming or day to day tasks. Its just a matter of when they over come the certain hurdles each individual has to want to adopt these new technologies. It is not a question of IF.
Actually the game is fine for what it is...it's just way too expensive. Would rate it a 7, maybe an 8 if it was 30 bucks.
Also improvements on Pro are pretty great on this one.
