Trophies and Achievements are now a customary part of the gaming landscape but in the eyes of many, they’ve sort of lost their appeal. What can developers do?
In 2020 the sheer number of game streaming subscriptions makes you wonder where you should focus your energy and money. Are you are looking for a streaming subscription to satisfy your gaming needs? Sony just needs to up its resolution and framerate and it'll be quite the service, still don't like streaming though so doesn't really matter to me.
The only game streaming services are PS Now, Stadia and GeForce Now.
Xbox Game pass, Uplay plus and Origin aren’t streaming.
A 24-year-old inhabitant of Poland has received nearly 9 thousand charges of illegal distribution of games. His idea was to buy digital versions of the games and then resell access to the account to many people. Losses he caused were valued at nearly $260,000. He pleaded guilty to all charges.

Most anything by Telltale games only requires you beat the story. Article fixates too much. No it doesn't take half a year per game, and yes I know you have a life, you don't have to repeat yourself.
To the point though, rewards would be nice. Bloodborne sent a code for a new wallpaper/theme. UC4 sent a congrats email at least. Some kind of trophy room on your profile would be alright, where you could prop up your faves. Maybe an avatar or points towards something?

Yeah, one good thing I can say about FF13 is that you could unlock themes for you ps3 through trophies, I myself are quite done with going after plats
Make 'em more about the player, and less as a checklist for developers. Most companies use them as a way to see what the gamer has accomplished, as a sort of instant feedback. Get more creative.
