Ethan Lee from the flibitijibibo Patreon page writes:

"Today I’m (in)formally announcing that I’ve been working on Steam versions of Ska Studios’ Charlie Murder and The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile! The Steam versions will be available for Linux, macOS and Windows on day 1, and will include all the features of the Xbox 360 versions including online multiplayer, achievements and leaderboards. They will also be the debut titles for FNA.Steamworks, a new reimplementation of the XNA4 Xbox Live features for FNA (which all versions of the game will be using)."

Salt n Sanctuary destroys those games.

GamingonPC2718d ago

Yeah, the gameplay evolution is quite evident. Still, I loved Ska Studios' earlier work, so I'm really happy that they are releasing both CM and The Dishwasher: VS on PC.

Awesome for Xbox Live members. I want PS4/XB1 freebies for both PSN and Xbox Live. Although it is cool they still support last gen with treats like these, I do not have a last gen console anymore. Why does this have to happen to me? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY!?

SSFIV is such a stupid game to give away, everyone that's actually into the game is playing Ultra now. So if you actually want to play with people you need the DLC, this is marketing rather than genuinely free content.

XiYakushijuAkeginuXi3600d ago

But since many people are getting the game for download at once, don't you think that there will be many people to play?

pompombrum3600d ago

Due to the game's steep learning curve, it's much better this way tbh. It should allow new players a chance to go online against other new players. On Ultra they reset the rankings meaning new players end up facing far more experienced ones and that would end up turning people away from online.

ChronoJoe3599d ago (Edited 3599d ago )

Yeah and if they learn to play the game they will have learnt on a version with different framedata and when they actually want to step up and play with people who aren't terrible, have to learn all over again.

Also you can still get beat down by experienced players with Ultra, many players enable 'any version' filtering on matchmaking. So you aren't exactly protected by owning the lesser version of the game, just restricted by it.

Besides SSFIV and USFIV has a relatively robust ranking system. If you're bad / new you won't be matched up with people outside of your skill bracket.

You forget that there will now be a huge surge of people who will now have the game w/o the DLC.
