It's a great game, but you should try some other titles as well. Can't be healthy for your gaming in general.

I'm giving Ocarina of Time a go for the first time, nowadays.

Ive only ever played RE4 on the PS2 (the technological leap of the ps2 still amazed me to this day), The people working on this HD project should be getting paid by Capcom for this.

Yep, the Gamecube version was the one!
Great great game!!!

I wish nintendo would have made a gamecube 2!

Only when Capcom re-release Resident Evil 4 with THIS kind of quality will I buy it again

The fact they've released so many editions and non of them are like this in quality shows you how lazy Capcom are.

"absolutely stunning" seems like a bit of an exaggeration....

Actually, seems like the high-res textures don't really fit with the low-res geometry. There's a certain lack of coherence and artistic direction in the overall visuals. Very typical of mods

MyDietEqualsGames3143d ago (Edited 3143d ago )

That's the point of this mod. This mod fixes of ton of mistakes by the developer too. So not only does the mod have textures that are totally faithful to the originals, extra work was put in to make them the best textures for the game. Period. I don't don't think they can increase poly count or even textures on characters since the textures they use comes with a price. But I haven't asked Albert that personally. All I can remember him saying was he hit a memory limit in a room or two and had to overcome the problem while making everything look natural. (think he had to reduce resolution on a texture or two, or something. I forgot!)

It looks good ... but sure not stunning

eldingo3143d ago

Ex-Naughty Dog Dev Says Resident Evil 4 Inspired Uncharted and Many More Action Games

Former Naughty Dog dev says Resident Evil 4 inspired Unchartted and even Gears of War, particularly the over-the-shoulder camera view.

CrimsonWing6922d ago

It revolutionized third-person shooters, in a genius way that gives you full control of aiming.

CrimsonWing6921d ago

No, I mean RE4. Like the whole snap to over-shoulder and precision aiming was what I meant.

I won’t deny Winback does pave the way in some respect. But it’s not the same at all.

InUrFoxHole22d ago

Both are great series. That's awesome

Samonuske22d ago

I thought this was common knowledge. Resident Evil Revolutionised over the shoulder aiming in 3rd person shooters/action games

italiangamer21d ago (Edited 21d ago )

Influenced basically every third person action game made after it, GTA uses the over the shoulder perspective when shooting since the 4th installment, Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 too and the Batman Arkham series has the over the shoulder perspective as the main camera throughout the whole game series.
Obviously there are a ton more examples but you get the point 🗿.

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Levii_9231d ago

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil30d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

__y2jb30d ago (Edited 30d ago )

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
