Skyrim Special Edition Review | STN

STN:

Skyrim Special Edition is still one of the finest games around. You can see exactly what we thought of it first time around here and that same enthusiasm is still very much active. There may be other Fantasy RPGs out there, but in our opinion Skyrim sets the benchmark and it's hard to see that changing any time soon.

Got it for free on PC, I'm actually pleasantly surprised, the new lighting makes a big difference. It should keep the game thriving for a least a few more years.

I have a ps4....:(, im a big bethesda fan, started with morowind (went back to the others) and it hurts to say this but im not supporting their ways, they are becoming really shady with sony side and that destroys the fans on sony side. I wont buy their games new, ill just get it used for now on, have to hurt them in the pockets so they can feel it

Was getting it on PS4 today then came across this article. How could Bethesda get away with releasing games like this ?

It's not so much Bethesda but sonys policies....
Bethesda has no problem with pc or xbox

I picked it up on XB1 for mods (console gamer) wanted it on PS4. But yeah the visuals have definitely exceeded my expectations. Like you said lighting is great but so is all the new fauna and textures, really brings Skyrim into the current gen. It's funny with all the remasteres these days, one of the largest and most replayable games get some of the most push back. Don't buy into the hate, if you're a big ES fan, just know Bethesda put out a solid effort and it's definitely worth checking out.

I have the PC version too! This version has serious problems. Besides the fact that the new lighting is not even close to what has been achieved via Mods textures have not improved much. And what is worse the game lost support to SKSE and SkyUI that allow more interesantes improvements. Without this mods we lose the big advantage PC have.

Better play the original version with mods for now.

I'm getting only because the extra incentive of Pro enhancements is enticing to me. I never got to finish Skyrim, and I do remember how great it was. But I'm also hearing that there are issues with the game that Bethesda should have fixed and has not as of yet.

I like how people downvoted you for no reason.

Your voice is not fit for reviews my friend.

psplova2752d ago (Edited 2752d ago )

I dunno.. I kinda like it. Sounds like one of the characters from the game...reviewing the game.

wotta2752d ago

Is it the Scottish accent? I can't help that :p

Bimkoblerutso2752d ago

Don't let Stubee34 get you down. I mean, I suppose you would sound pretty cardboard if you were reading like...Shakespeare, but your presentation is perfectly fine for something as sterile as a game review. I suppose you could work on sounding a little less robotic and scripted if you really wanted to, but again, honestly....it's just a game review.

Looking forward to this on my Xbox One I think they need to drop the price a little bit first though

Saw this update on fallout 4 pc i got it on steam so mods be broken ahoa now skyrim just great.

They could toss a patch out to fix launch day bugs still around but na they need that money sense they are part if a trillion dollar corporation now.

Let it die. Bethesda is trying to kill it, so they can go all mobile casino games.

Hasn't this been a thing for like a decade? How is this news?

anast992d ago

Is there a mode that has more than 4 NPC voices?

diepdiep992d ago

It's called "Interesting NPCS". This adds +200 more characters that aren't one dimensional and has 80 voice actors.

anast992d ago

Nice. I might revisit the Rim.
