Video Games Inspiring Gamers to Write

FGE- One of the fundamental rules of writing well is to read books. Every aspiring writer hears this rule at some point in their career. But this presents a problem for writers who specifically want to write because they can’t relate to the stories around them. I’m one of those writers. Instead of looking to books to inspiration, I turn to video games. I’m inspired by the sweeping stories, diverse characters and settings in role-playing games.

Reading books helped turn me AWAY from writing. XD

I read Moby Dick and had my mind obliterated by Melville's extraordinary writing craft. I knew then that every attempt I'd ever made at writing was just utter crap, and that I should just give up and stick to my day job.
