Ken Levine, the visionary creative director and lead writer at Irrational Games, has crafted some of the most interesting stories in video games. Two Left Sticks’ Cody Mello-Klein sat down with Levine at his studio on Route 128 in Massachusetts to talk with him about the recent remaster of the Bioshock games, design philosophies, and how his upcoming project could change the future of narrative in games.
Console Creatures writes, "The BioShock film at Netflix is still happening but with a reduced budget."
It's 10 years too late for a BioShock film. The world of Rapture would have been perfect for a film. It's actually a good candidate for proper utilization of 3D, for increased depth rather than bullshit popping out of the screen. It could really show off the underwater city that way. But BioShock as a brand is so irrelevant these days that a film just doesn't make sense. Especially considering it would need a big budget and top notch effects to really take advantage of the IP.
Netflix greenlights anything, so that shows me very little faith in the project. Enough to just crap something out as they're, more and more, known to do.
I'll laugh if it turns out to be better then the Borderlands movie
Rare, the developer behind pirate adventure Sea of Thieves, has introduced a dedicated dog park to its studio grounds for employees' good boys and girls.
Nice thing they did, but not actually gaming related, not sure why this article was approved. Also strange informing us what game Rare worked on, as if we don't know their legacy.
I went to look at new apartments and saw only dog parks, no kid parks. We're so screwed.
A new PlayStation Malaysia tour video shows what looks to be concept art for Bluepoint's next game.
Another shooter? Yawn. Thought the prevous concept looked more fantasy.
Looks like my dream of them remaking Metal Gear Solid is over, still cant wait to see what they are cooking up.
As always Ken provides some great insight into his creative process and the industry in general. Great interview.
Got Bioshock not long ago on steam, need to play it still
That interview was incredible, I enjoyed the questions just as much as the answers! I can't wait to see his current projects come to fruition.
Where's the Bioshock Vita you promised us huh Ken?
I would play any game that was even partially inspired by Rod Serling
