I don't buy MS always claiming shortages. But at 840, it's got to be one of two things: There really is a shortage, or everyone in japan that will buy a 360, has bought one.

Without out Microsoft, they'll be no Killzone a.k.a "Halokiller", the PS3 would still be $800, PSN would stil be as bad as it was when it was released and you'll have to pay for it. You won't have trophies, you won't have companies like Insomniac, Naughty Dog pushing the PS3 because they'll just try to make their game slightly better that what's done on the Wii...

So stop acting like a 12yr old and be glad there's a company like Microsoft that's making Sony try harder.

840 Xbox 360's sold?!!!

There's been so much talk about the Xbox 360 shortages in Japan, but that was WEEKS ago whenever Tales of Vesperia dropped over there. Microsoft should have gotten more shipments of 360's to Japan by now so there's no excuses.

I can't wait until March 2009 for those Advent Children PS3 bundles because then the PS3 will definantly be at the top of the Japanese hardware charts for a little while.

It also stated that new shipments would be arriving the beggining of September. The reason last weeks numbers were higher was because you could still find consoles, but not as easily and maybe not the SKU you were looking for. Obviously they are getting even harder to find if 840 is it.

MS stupidly announced publically a Sept. 11th Price cut at the end of August for Japan. Nobody in their right minds would by a 360 until the 11th. I think we will see more realistic numbers for the following week.

Yes, these are low numbers but what "we" ps3 owners are not admitting is that Sony is doing very little to capitalize on this situation in Japan. sony's foothold in Japan, albeit better, isn't much better than Microsofts. I'm saying that with a system selling 800 to 2000 units a week and you have done nothing to solidify your lead by being more competitive price wise...

C'mon, Sony is looking weak in Japan too, guys. Admit it. Admit that Sony selling 8000 units more a week and often times less, isn't really that big of a leap when considering last generation. Also admit that Ps3 selling 30+ thousand more units a week would probably be more crucial for Sony.

Sony's foothold in Japan is considerably better, they still have three systems on the market there. The PS3 hasn't hit it's dominating numbers over ther yet but they will. Once SE gets out even a release date for FFXIII, FFvXIII, and KH3, there will be continuous supply constraints, maybe not sell outs, but they should easily begin to hit strides of 50-60k a week. The lack of a compelling AAA RPG is what is holding back PS3 sales, too many shooters and Western games in the PS3 market over there. Get some Dragon Quest on the PSN, followed by FF and other RPG's sales will boom and fast.
