PlayStation VR review: A fantastic introduction to Virtual Reality gaming - Independent UK

The release of PSVR marks the beginning of something truly magical: the introduction of Virtual Reality to the masses. Sure, the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift are both readily available, but the number of people who own computers capable of running those headsets pales significantly compared to PlayStation 4 owners.

taken from the article: like many of you, I was dismissive of the ‘fad’ three months ago, believing it to be more a novelty rather than a real gaming experience. However, after playing all three major systems, there’s no doubt about Virtual Reality being future of gaming, and Sony is leading the pack.

Sony certainly has a good chance of gaining a decent foothold in the VR market, the PSVR sounds like a worthwhile experience, and it is quite an achievement by Sony to not only bring a viable VR system to consoles, but to do it at an affordable price.

VR is happening people. can't wait.

Well said. Three days baby, my wallet is going to ache because I want to get all of the games :(

The Independent is one of VERY few UK papers with a decent name, so this is praise indeed!

Not that any more praise is needed; I already know enough to know I'm buying it. I can't believe how diverse the launch window line up of games is. Or how many - it's a hugely impressive launch, even by full-blown console standards.

Sorry mate, but you have no credibility with this statement. You're dismissive and showing a negative bias of something you've not even tried is inexcusable. And now look at you doing a public u-turn once you've actually given it a try.

I was lucky and held off on 4 until I played it in VR. It really is pretty awesome - you'll love it.

The icing on the cake would be if Sony / Valve allow for a Steam Link app much like it is for the Quest 3. Likely wishful thinking, though.
