Carl Williams writes, "Carmageddon is a classic vehicle based action game with horror overtones. If you remember Death Race 2000 then you know the basic idea of Carmageddon already. Not content with just being a homage game to that classic movie, Stainless Games Limited went further and created a phenomenon in gaming. Spawning a few sequels and remakes on computers and consoles over the years, the original Carmageddon was never really bested. Several years ago, we saw an Android and iPhone port of this horror racer and life was good. Now, the publishers have released the Android version freely to the world but things have changed and not for the better apparently."
THQ Nordic today announced that the acquisition of the intellectual property “Carmageddon” has been finalized with Stainless Games, based in Newport, Isle of Wight, United Kingdom.
Mmmm in my opinion THQ Nordic it's expanding too much too quick, you gotta be careful especially if your games turns out not exceptionally well like Darksiders 3. You gotta make money to survive after all.
I'm quite interested to see where they take this. I loved the original games and although wasn't impressed with the last one released they could do a heck of a lot with this IP.
Mark Twain once said, “There is no such thing as a new idea.” Everything takes inspiration from something else. Even Star Wars was heavily influenced by Here are 10 games that were obviously very heavily inspired by popular movies. Be warned that we'll be spoiling some things.
Games Asylum: "Question is, then, what’s so special about the N64’s worst games? It’s almost as if they’ve been granted special status within the halls of video gaming. If you care to indulge, we have a few theories about why the likes of Superman 64 have remained in our collective minds instead of fading into obscurity."
Not just the N64, but that entire era houses mistakes; every generation does. The 5th Gen is the benchmark of what we primarily game on, and like an old yearbook we tend to look back to shake our head at our mistakes, choices, or revel in it.
