The PlayStation VR is the most comfortable VR headset ever made

The Oculus Rift and HTC Vive may surpass PlayStation VR in some key areas — they are more expensive, after all — but Sony’s first attempt at a virtual reality headset isn’t just more comfortable...

You gotta give it to Sony. They really do know how to make proper hardware. This thing literally puts ZERO pressure on your face. No straps to work around everytime you are putting it on. Just place it over your head like a hat and tighten the ring. Pretty cool idea.

Eonjay2910d ago

They have been making headsets forever so of course they have a leg up on the competition.

Yeah - Sony has a deep history in HMD tech, I believe going back as early as 1995 with Glasstron.

PSVR was the far more comfortable, ergonomic option than the others, even a couple of years ago.

italiangamer2910d ago

You know the PSVR is truly AMAZING when even a biased MS site like Polygon says that is good :D

Veteran hardware company - nough said.

Sony always delivers adequately in hardware.

But what about people that NEED glasses? All I've heard over the last year from previews on all VR sets is that having glasses and trying to use it is a nightmare.

Hairy Chewie2910d ago

Everything Ive read from people that have tried PSVR with glasses have been very complimentary and that it was pretty comfortable even with glasses on.

Sunny_D2910d ago

Check up on Digital Foundry's video review of PSVR. The reviewer said he has no problem wearing it with his glasses and was well designed in that regard.

Summons752910d ago

That's good, they probably changed something since E3 which is great to hear. I'm still waiting for the hype to die down to hear the real reviews and also Resident Evil :)

zeuanimals2909d ago

But what about Halloween masks? I wanna really get into the spirit of things and kill aliens as Michael Myers.

@Summons75

Nope, even before E3, glasses worked fine with it.

mogwaii2910d ago

Norm from tested who wears glasses said it is the most comfortable vr headset to use with glasses.

MasterCornholio2910d ago

That's the main reason why im interested in it. The other headsets don't work with my glasses well.

Xavy2910d ago

Man you have youtube and Google stop being lazy, the answeris there man.

rainslacker2910d ago

PSVR is the most comfortable with glasses. There is nothing which causes pressure on the glasses like with the OR. The display kind of floats in front of your face, and is not pressed against you like with the OR or Vive. Glasses fit comfortably into the space within with ample room all around to accommodate spectacles.

I wore my glasses while playing 7 demos for roughly an hour and it felt great. It adjusts specifically for glasses as it can be moved closer or further from your face. Also, it actually has all the pressure on the top of your forehead and the back of your head and the visor actually sits in front of your face almost like a welding helmet. Whereas the other headsets are suctioned to your face like ski goggles. PSVR is by far the most glasses friendly and remarkably comfortable.

S2Killinit2909d ago

@summons
The other headsets need to presh against your face like goggles, this can be an issue if you wear glasses, PSVR doesnt press against your face and the screen can be pushed as close or as far as you need it, making room for anyaize glasses you may want to wear.
