What will you be playing this October?

DesVader2854d ago

That is certainly a bumper crop of games coming out in October and quite a few top AAA titles ahead of Christmas. I had to chuckle at Farming Simulator. Did all the Farmville players grow up and gravitate there or what?

schmoe2854d ago

Bos!!! Are you going to play BF1 with me? You should be old enough to remember using those weapons ;-)

GLITCHED_2854d ago

Hey, this e-farming is serious business

schmoe2854d ago

Pretty damn good line up, Cleverly layed out too because if you put BF1 1st i prolly wouldn't have read anything else!!

phoenixwing2854d ago

world of final fantasy for me

GLITCHED_2854d ago

That the only one from that long list?

phoenixwing2854d ago (Edited 2854d ago )

I don't pay for psn plus on my ps4. So as far as single player offerings i'm going with world of final fantasy. I guess i could also get tomb raider but i already have a huge back log of games it's ridiculous.

Edit: I didn't see the rest of the part where it showed a list of other games coming. There's dragon quest builders, aragami, and xenoverse 2 i could also buy

Hedstrom2854d ago

Some really great games. But what does Microsoft think about Ps4 pro lack of UHD player?

This Steam Deck-compatible trilogy is now more than $100 off, perfect for fans of action-packed FPS

The Shadow Warrior trilogy is currently listed with a 93% discount on Steam, and you can save more than $100 - ideal for your Steam Deck?

anast28d ago

It's rated as "playable"...it will look jank and probably run like it too.

Number1TailzFan28d ago

Well if it's not good enough for you then just play it on a decent PC.

@GhostMirror

Yeah same here. Lots of unsuported indie horror games that end up being fully playble with standard controls and no issues whatsoever.

Thus far, most unsupported games run fine on Steamdeck but I have run on some issues with some lesser known games as well (do not boot at all despite trying various proton versions) but again those were mostly indie horror games.

Playable games almost always play well and have minimal if any issues so I am not sure what Anast is trying to point out here.

I have shadow warrior 2 and am playing it on deck right now. Runs really well and looks good too.

DaMist28d ago

The "playable" label can be something as simple as needing a mouse click on a menu cause controlelrs don't work lol its crazy how many automatically claim a game will run like shit just cause of that label, same with those unverified. take helldivers 2, its unverified on steam because of the mp, not because the game itself doesnt work. just something to keep in mind.

I wasn't really impressed with the second game, hopefully the third one is better.

1 st one is the best. Second one is meh. Couldn't play third one because of, it was crashing on my PC.

GB: "Nailing an experience's length is easier said and done, and one way or another, these games left a little to be desired on that front."

I always have a problem with games that should have been longer when lasting 8-10 hours.
Here's a question I ask all the time when ppl say that.
How many times have you replayed the story of a great game like Tlou2, GOW, Final Fantasy remake, GTA, Zelda, or any other 20 hours plus game? and usually, the answer varies between 0 and rarely 1.

So what's the point of having great 30 hours plus games if you will never replay them because of level, section, grinding dragging too long?

Lifexline538d ago (Edited 538d ago )

I agree I’m not sure how people find the time to play all these games. 20 plus hour games are great but for me 8 to 10 is the sweet spot. Those games take to long to finish specially when you have a backlog of games waiting to be played. Plus 20 plus hour games always have downtime and unnecessary side quests that can be boring too much fodder imo.

Being on your phone is one thing you can access websites like this everywhere on your phone or mobile gaming. But games you have to find the time to play them. Which is why I don’t understand why so many people want like ten games it seems In a month.

LucasRuinedChildhood537d ago (Edited 537d ago )

I think you're missing the point a bit.

A game can be 8-10 hours long and use that time really well, but it can also only start to get good far into the playthrough and leave the player feeling short-changed.

Hotline Miami is only 4-5 hours long but it's extremely well paced and time well spent. But if only got really good towards the end, I'd want it to be longer.

Stanjara538d ago

You just look at trophies and se that around 20% or less actually finish their games.
