I still have and use my launch PS2, it moans like a bitch when i first boot it up but then settles down. I wish Sony would release SSX Tricky on PS4, then i can finally retire it console heaven(my attic).

It also looks a bit cleaner from the sides, because it has less of those "gaps" and also cleaner airvents.

Originaly I thought it was just the same console but with internal powerbrick, but its actually different looking too. Got one specimen just a while ago for super cheap.

And if I would nitpick about the fat PS2's, I prefer the later fat models (4000x-5000x?). They have just a slightly different profile to their looks imo.

As in, it's cooling is going like crazy, or the disc drive is super loud?

I have only had very limited experience with different fat PS2's, but to me it seems the earlier models had considerably louder fan and the disc drive sounded more snappy. The late fat models were a bit more quiet and had a smoother disc drive sound.

The interesting thing, though, is that both earlier models I have opened have had their "teeth" in great conditions (basicly, the important part that helps moving the laser), but my original 5000x fat PS2 has almost no teeth left. That makes the disc drive super loud and barely functional.

I think Slims went through similar changes to the noises they made.

Yep Sony should have had it on all playstation generations or simply add it as an option.

Actually if you download the 20th anniversary theme on the PS4, you'll have it. I've had it on there for a couple years now. Doubt I'll ever take it off. I love that boot up theme!

The Playstation brand is the leader in the console market and a pillar to the industry.

With 3 gaming generations won, the best selling console in history and the fastest selling console in industry, there is simply no other competitor to come close to its legacy.

The brand is undeniable! Next to nintendo, it has a near perfect legacy that has delivered truly breakthrough experiences, that no other brand has been able to maintain for as long. I'm not saying there hasn't been other brands to deliver experiences like the PS, but none has done it as long as they have consistently.

I'm ready to jump into the next iteration of it with PS4Pro and PSVR.
Proud to have joined the PS Brand back in 1999. I haven't looked back or wished for any other console from another brand since. when you can feel satisfied with one thing thats when you know you're getting all you want out of somthing.
