Destiny: Rise of Iron Review | Gamespresso

Gamespresso: "Destiny: Rise of Iron is nothing less than the culmination of all of Bungie's hard-earned lessons. Though short, it delivers where it counts."

"If the heavy emphasis on grinding your way through Strikes and the Daily and Weekly Bounties didn’t appeal to you before, there is little reason to come back for the newest expansion."

This is my biggest problem. Doing the story missions gets you to about 340-ish. Then it's a slog to get to 365. Basically you are just grinding the heroic strike playlist over and over so you can get gear to help bring you up. Not much else to do unless you want to go back and do some older content. The Raid was locked away behind a pretty high light level this time around (370). Currently am at 357 and working my way slowly but surely up into the high 360s so I can at least attempt the raid.

The grinding is a problem, but the first couple fights of the raid are doable at 357. Yesterday I ran through it with a new group. The highest player was 368, the lowest was 350, and we still got through the first two bosses.

cool. I have heard that it isn't really until the end boss that LL gets to be an issue. Plus the drops you get early will help boost you up.

To be honest I am so close to 360 now that I don't mind grinding a little more in the strikes.

Ha. Yeah. Our lower players stopped having quite as much fun once we got to the end boss.

If you don't like doing the strikes you do have other options. Prison of Elders will grant gear up to 365. Crucible will grant gear higher than your current level. The Forge also will drop items higher up to 365 for Enhanced Offerings and up to 385 for Perfected Offerings.

Edit: yes, challenge is what I meant. As for the Forge. Just use the slow walk method. Go down to the cave below the forge and kill and ads and then slowly walk back to the Forge. It has spawned activities for me every time.

*Challenge of the Elders you mean. Yeah, I ran that this weekend for a full card. I am playing around with that new Crucible gametype - Supremacy, as well. Forge is ok, but people are rarely there. Plus I am not finding much in the way of Siva offerings. Even though I just troll the plaguelands killing everything I can find.

...but there are pretty much no exotics, which killed it for me. Then again, maybe not, it is just with Destiny 2 being so close it is hard to want to jump back into the cycle of progression like I did with TTK. It just does not feel rewarding and at the end of the day pointless.
Last year I was enjoying TTK so much I gave Forza no love, this year it is going to be the opposite.

Destiny 2 being so close is kind of the shadow hanging over the entire expansion, not just exotics. It is definitely less content than TTK, but what is there is all high quality.

posted this in a similar article not too long ago:

-60FPS
-dedicated servers for PVP
-weapon balance, not selective metas
-lose current sandbox testers/team
-all legendaies/exotics made useful, but obviously will have their strengths/weakeness depending on PVE or PVP and at their specific ranges. I do not want weapons that are absolute trash no matter when you use them.
