We join the last of the Iron Lords to battle back a nano-plague but are hit with an overwhelming sense of deja vu in our Destiny: Rise of Iron review.

This guy says Destiny plays like all other shooters? Ummm no. I wish, I have tried to find any that have the dynamic gameplay of Destiny and there are none. The supers, platforming, social spaces are not anything I have seen in other shooters.

It definitely doesn't play like other shooters. Perhaps they're referring to just the barebones shooting gameplay which resembles Halo if anything, but that's obviously because Bungie created halo. Still I play both Halo and Destiny and they're different.

Destiny is leagues better than Halo. I just got into it finally after all these years and I can't understand the criticisms. I'm only level 16 and I've already put more time into the game than any of the past singleplayer Halos and I find the world to be much more interesting and the gameplay is better. If it was so bad then people wouldn't put hundreds to thousands of hours into (a lot of times those are the people that complain the most)

Agreed. The game play is what sets destiny a part and why people keep playing/going back to. I think if the game play wasn't as good as it is, it wouldn't have half the user base that it has.

And yet with pre order records broken. Remains relevant today. Want proof watch the investors webcast.

"Activision Blizzard revealed its financial results for the first quarter of 2016 today, and it also noted that the online shooter Destiny now has over 30 million registered players. That’s up from 25 million last November."

So obviously the game is doing something right. Compare that to blizzards newest game overwatch at 15 million and battlefields 4 million and COD dismal 66,000. Now compare those numbers to a game out three years. Despite the flaws destiny remains king of fps. And destiny 2 will only cement that fact pushing even halo to second place.

Not bad for a "mediocre" fps.

COD also breaks numbers, doesn't mean it is a good game and it always gets such ratings as well.

Pffff these companies don't care about a game being our version of what's good they only care about what sells what generates revenue. And right now destiny is doing just that.

To review Destiny: Rise of Iron without the raid being released yet seems a little premature.. at least to give it any kind of final score

You could argue that the content which you have available to you on purchase is all that the DLC is at that point. Thus they review what they have available to them, not what is provided for free or for an extra fee afterword (micro/macro transactions).

Bungie could have waited to sell the DLC with the raid available, but they choose to hold it back every time.

Edit:

It should not be an issue to review raid on release and come back to update the score, for better or worse.
