Driveclub VR Price Confirmed But It Isn’t Clear If Existing Owners Will Get It Free

As a owner of DC, i dont mind paying £15-£20 for the VR add on, but i'll be damned if i'am paying £40 for it again, but going by other games that will be getting a VR add on for free or for a reduced price, i can see the same thing happening with DC as well.

Definitely a discount fopr existing players since what they are adding is great but not worth another $40. $20 is fair to me.

Not even close, it was 1.11 Euro's to the pound a decade or so ago. It still has a way to go to beat that.

Problem with if they charge £15 though and they do try charging £40 for the standalone (they really shouldn't) who is going to pay £40 when you can buy the game second hand for like £5-£8.

They can patch the game easy. It should be free for existing owners since it is the same game with a different view angle. I wont pay for a camera angles you guys are insane.

Not really. Extra work had to be put in to make Driveclub VR compatible, it's not as simple as you seem to think.

Technically it SHOULDN'T be free. They didnt advertise the game as VR. They added the VR functionality afterward and put work into it. But if they decide to give it away for free, then more power to them.

Ps: VR isnt a simple "camera angle"

Honestly, this makes sense from a business standpoint. People could go out and buy the basic game for cheap and receive the VR upgrade for free if they did it that way. They want more sales, and honestly, deserve more sales.

You will get a discount if you owned season pass. And the Driveclub VR is build from the ground up from scratch.

It had to be built from the ground up, the original game ran at 30fps which is inadequate for VR.

This is what is concerning about the limitations of the hardware and the impact on games that are also designed for non VR users.

So what does it mean? It means the best VR experiences will be those built from the ground up but don't expect too many full retail games that would normally be $60 titles

The fact that Sony does sell you at high price remasters like Last of Us, God of war, Remaster that would have been free on PC Cue to Skyrim remastered, Bioshock collection or any game that come on pc with texture patch later on at no Cost.

The fact that Sony charges for stupid things like wallpaper and themes.

And honestly, why should they give it you for free when PS4 fans are more then happy to defend this model.
Heck where's the uproar for price increase of PS+ (from 49$ to 69$ here in Canada)

So like I said a thousand time in the past were all winners here, PS fans do get to pay top dollars for seconds servings like they asked.
And PC users do get theses upgrades for free because they have rejected this cheap business practice.

Well, if this is something that had to be made from the ground up, then I can understand charging.

If this is something that required some patchwork, then it should probably be free or at the very least a SMALL fee for those that own the original DC and normal price for those that don't have the original DC.

Sweet I thought this was completely stand alone. If it's releasing as an update to the current game too I'll be delighted. I don't mind even paying for the upgrade.
