That's definitely important for them to reiterate. As long as the base PS4 can provide the minimum required experience and the Pro will only provide fluff above that, then it's a good thing. If ever the base model PS4 becomes a compromised experience or less than satisfactory, there will be issues.
Means that if you choose not to upgrade or if you decide to go with the Slim, you wont be missing out on any content.
Thats good news. I see sony stocks seeing a jump this holiday with VR and their consumer friendly Pro plus their 300 ps4. If you got an extra 1k or 2k bucks, you can make some extra cash. I'd buy now or wait a week or two and buy if it hits 30bucks or less. And if they go down which I don't expect them to during the holidays, Sony still has a lot under the hood to make it a slightly longer term investment with some big games coming out this year and next.
