Nice. I still own my 360 disc copy. Great job MS.

I didn't know they had Final Showdown on a disc.

I love VF2 and VF5 on 360. I just watched Hard Target 2 and the movie features a fight scene that looks like the ground lit background in the first Virtua Fighter.

Nah. It was never on disc. I owned VF5 on disc but VF5FS was a digital only title.. I played a lot of It back then. I wonder why Sega isn't making VF6.

I think fighting games are a tough sell these days. Look at the recent Tekkens, Street Fighters, and Mortal Kombats. They all tried to come out with a 60 dollar price tag and really didn't sell that well. I think the formula worked great in the 16-bit days simply because we were really excited to have Ken, Ryu, Sub Zero, etc. on our home TVs that looked almost as good as their arcade counterparts. Then Dreamcast came along with Soul Calibur and it was actually better than the arcade.

Fighting games should try to make some sort of a season mode like NBA or Football games. VF kind of does it with the leveling system. But it would be fun to start at the bottom of the ladder and work your way up to a championship like boxing or UFC. WWE could also try something similar instead of their "story" modes. One on one fighters aren't deep enough to warrant the 60 dollar price tags any more. It shows when you see games drop in price after 3 months on store shelves and they're marked down half off.
