No Man's Sky: An Excercise In Boredom | Post Mortem Review | Gaming Central

This was supposed to be a review. Now it’s more of a post mortem. Not much left to do but cut open the torso, measure up the viscera and record the lacerations inflicted along with cause of death. Oh and before we begin, this “review” shall be spoiler heavy. So in case you are thinking of giving this game a buy, don’t. That is, don’t buy the game you fool.

It'll be a while before I get hyped for games again.. Oh look, Mass Effect Andromeda!

GurnoorKBehl3162d ago

You can star in Mass Effect Andromeda, you know.

Krussail3162d ago

Yeah, read about that..

GurnoorKBehl3162d ago

This game was the WORST ever. Why did I even attempt putting my precious fingers on the keyboard and playing it?! I was like "Hey, I'm sure it'll get better..Now..Now..Just about now.." and my Now never came. Good thing I woke up (notice I said "woke up") at the right moment, else it would've been my post mortem.

And it's funny how Hello Games has been silent since release. Folks were defending them saying that they're must be busy adding content, patching & fixing the game. Why the hell were they not doing that before release, instead of fuelling the hype.

Goldby3161d ago

they werent fueling the hype, that was all media dna gamers. they were busy from the day they first started working on it, to the flood and after that, to going gold and working on patches up to release adna fterwards

Lonnie183161d ago

They kept hammering No Man's Sky and still are with bad press till it fell off, what a shame! It didn't have bloody killing sprees or AK-47's, or team deathmatches and everyone went bonkers...if you can't kill in a game then the gamer is not interested it would seem!

TheOptimist3161d ago

And that is precisely the reason games like Journey, The Witness, Abzu etc are successful, right?

Lonnie183161d ago

Those games have not sold well...

TheOptimist3161d ago

So you judge a game on the number of sales it does? Then COD must be your favourite game, right?

Imalwaysright3161d ago

Oh yeah shooting at rocks and managing inventory is so fun!!

More games in development you say, Breath of Fire 3 and 4 remastered collection? Because that is what I am waiting for.

gold_drake13h ago(Edited 13h ago)

4 just came out for pc again.

not a remaster tho

CrimsonWing699h ago(Edited 9h ago)

Man, of everything they have remastered, I’d give them all up if it meant just getting these 2 remasters.

gold_drake13h ago

look, capcom has found a sweet spot for their games.

the RE engine is pretty amazing.

Goodguy0111h ago

I wonder if they'll continue to make any new ace attorney and megaman games. They should definitely revisit breath of fire at some point, remaster em, pixel remaster. Please, something capcom.

neutralgamer199210h ago

I think they will continue to utilize all their IP's. They have found how to succeed and that's by making fun games

Atlus coming in strong for Sega thankfully

CrimsonWing6913h ago

What about the Yakuza series and Sonic?

I like what's on their legacy IP list, but there are still many more franchises they could revive. Shining Force and Chakan come to mind.

UE5 based this time

robtion1d 4h ago

That said, I think Stellar Blade looks better than most current UE5 games.

Relientk771d 5h ago

If Stellar Blade is anything to go by, yeah I am hyped to see this new game.

robtion1d 4h ago

I just saw the Stellar Blade director just finished Clair Obscur (96hrs playtime). He clearly has good taste. Gives me some confidence concerning their new game.

Notsofast10h ago(Edited 10h ago)

he did make Stellar Blade based on inspiration of Nier Automata God of War 4, and Horizon Zero Dawn so if he makes a Stellar Blade 2 I could see it reaching Final Fantasy 7 remake levels

jznrpg1d 5h ago

I hope it’s single player.

robtion1d 4h ago

Let's hope so. If not I have no interest in it.

robtion1d 4h ago

Very interested to see what they follow Stellar Blade up with. Easily my GOTY 2024.

Levii_921d 4h ago

I have 120 hours in this game..

Astro Bot was mine easily but Stellar Blade is right behind it and then Silent Hill 2.

robtion1d 3h ago

Yeah I have around 260 hours. I also loved the Silent Hill 2 remake and Space Marine 2.
