Bethesda – Why Aren’t We Mad About Their Glitchy Buggy Games? | RGT 85

Elder Scrolls and Fallout seem to get a pass for being buggy and glitchy because they are made by Bethesda. But why is this? Would any other company get this sort of free pass?

I don't get angry about it, but I do try to wait a year or two so that the worst of them might hopefully get fixed. But even years later their games are still broken.

Though Fallout 4 was much less buggy than what I normally expect from Bethesda.

mkis0072775d ago (Edited 2775d ago )

Because even with the bugs no one else makes an action RPG quite like them. I hate it so much but it's true.

ShaunCameron2775d ago

Because in spite of the issues, a lot of gamers will still take Bethesda over the alternatives any day of the week.

It's a business tho..TakeTwo has 11,600 people, which means they let go around 600 people. There was probably a lot if bloat, but did anyone report about TakeTwo giving any "stimulus" to the employees laid off?

$35 million is being spent on severance pay. That's roughly $58,000 per employee, which probably includes continued benefits and pay after seperation. Can we get more of a report on how TakeTwo is supporting those let go?

roadkillers12h ago

^ That's if the averages worked out. We don't know if its like that or if a big shot got $30 million while others got dirt...

That's why we need journalists to dig in instead of these shallow news reports.

ConsoleAgnostic11h ago

Severance is great but the problem is the industry is experiencing layoffs all over, which makes it very hard for a lot of these people to get back into a job. The issue is these companies are expecting higher revenue every year, and when they have a year where they make the same amount or a little bit less all hell breaks loose. The only silver lining I'm seeing here is that a lot of these people will go on to create smaller indie studios and hopefully create something.

jwillj2k413h ago

There should be a law that says you can’t get rid of employees just for profits without executives taking a x % pay cut first. Encourage them to figure something else out.

redknight8012h ago

100% agree! I understand layoffs are a necessity sometimes but in addition to that, yeah, the CEO should not have their bonuses paid out that year; at the very minimum.

jwillj2k412h ago

Anyone who disagrees hasn’t felt the turmoil of being laid off.

blacktiger12h ago

They haven't even released the game, previous game made 10000% percent profits and then layoff?

Relientk7711h ago

Should be canceling the casino simulator sports games, but I know it's not them. It better not affect BioShock 4 and the Borderlands games

Not a bad thing. They've even shown excitement at what the update could bring to making things better for them. More work? Yeah. But, still a good thing overall.

-Foxtrot1d 9h ago (Edited 1d 9h ago )

I think this looks pretty great so they should take as much time as they need.

It’s kind of shame however we’ll probably never get to see an official Fallout London game or anything set in the UK now because of the mod.

Andrew3361d 6h ago

Why not? It's only gonna be available on PC and is not backed by Bethesda at all

-Foxtrot1d 1h ago

Because Bethesda might think "Meh, London has already been done with that Mod, they've taken the shine away from it and if we do it now they might think we're copying"

Something along those lines.

FPS_D3TH1d 1h ago

While I’d love to see more world building lore in Fallout, I’d be surprised if Fallout ever ventured beyond a United States setting. Maybe a dlc to a main game though. Always wondered what other places would look like, if they too had the 50s culture with futuristic tech.

Richhard11d 7h ago

No point on the update, you can get 60fps anyway with mods.

Fonsecap1d 3h ago

The update will break much more then it will fix... At least on PC.
