I hope they release a standalone version

cyckiewicz3217d ago

I suppose they will, but after few months probably It's just too damn good to sell it in bundle. I mean if they price it for 20$ as stand alone I think it would be fair :)

Aenea3217d ago

I think they will, but it might take them until the holidays 2017 to do so when the next COD arrives...

Crazyglues3217d ago (Edited 3217d ago )

Listen to the people who think a stand alone version is coming, you clearly don't know -Activision- If you have fallen and hit your head, and suddenly think Bobby the CEO at Activision, the same guy that screwed both the original Developers of COD (the two main guys that Now make Titanfall) out of there money and took them to court only to lose and had to pay them all of their money,

-if you think Bobby, that greedy back stabbing money hungry greedy super rich CEO, has suddenly got a soft spot for gamers and is going to make the Re-master a Stand alone out of the kindness of his heart, you have no idea who Bobby is then...

Don't worry your about to learn the hard way -- Listen to my words carefully, " there is and there will be no standalone for the COD Re-master on current gen consoles, it will not happen" --Sorry please don't hate the messenger

--But every time I hear you guys say this, I want to say, "oh I guess you don't know Bobby, because if you did, you would know there will be no standalone not as long as Activision is all about milking the dam COD franchise to the death...

mike32UK3217d ago (Edited 3216d ago )

What you're saying makes zero sense. "BOBBY" won't release this as a stand alone out of the kindness of his heart, he will do the following:

1.Claim there will be no stand alone release to try and sucker people into buying the new COD if they want to play MW remaster but have zero interest in playing IW.

2. Release remaster 6 months down the line MAX to make sure he recoups the sales of the people who weren't suckered into buying IW just to play the remaster.

Crazyglues3217d ago (Edited 3217d ago )

@mike32UK

and 6 months later when it's not released as a Re-master, what then, what you going to do, wait another year while keeping the hope alive that Activision will see the error of there ways and suddenly decide they don't like making money anymore so why don't they just release it as a stand alone... LoL

-But wait I know why your saying that, because you know of a different Not money hungry Activision, one that cares about the poor gamer, that's why they lowered the season pass for advance warfare, right? Wait what's that you say Mike, a old as hell game, and the season pass is still $50 dollars... you mean no discount after all this time... Wake up MIke.... Jesus Christ, Pipe Dream much... ?

And meanwhile in 2018 guess who will still be waiting to play..... LMAO -Good Luck with that- #Keep hope alive Mike32UK

Pearljam3217d ago

If someone's already waited 6 months I'm pretty sure they aren't super interacted in it to begin with. They would just move on and forget about it. Player base would be down by then anyways. They will lose money if they do not release it by then at the latest. People will lose interest.

nug_em3216d ago (Edited 3216d ago )

@Crazyglues
[Edit: I'm responding to his comment directed towards mike32UK]

Jeeze, man. What part about the argument, "It might be more profitable to release CoD4 as a standalone game later down the line," don't you get?

You don't know if Activision won't release a standalone later. You have no fucking clue. It's all guess work. Just as @mike32UK and I don't know Activision will. Our side of the argument is just that it might net Activision more money later (esp., if they act like there won't be a standalone for the time being).

We're all essentially arguing about the profitability of such an endeavor. Don't be a dick and prop up a straw man argument about Activision being nice and charitable when NOBODY mentioned that except yourself.

3216d ago
Crazyglues3216d ago

@ nug_em

besides being butt hurt what else you got.... first I'm a grown ass man, so maybe that's why I can't relate to your crying about $80 dollars, or maybe it's because I've been so far from mommy and daddy for so many years I don't know how to be upset about such minor things like a game being bundled with another game to help it make sales... guess you got me there... sorry I can't be a 12 year old like you..

-But when you grow up ask yourself why is it so hard for you to see the other side of the argument, you know the part where it's not more profitable to sell it separate for $20 or $40 when I can get $80 I know math must be a little hard for you right now, you being a dick and all. but yeah $80 is more then $20... trust me on this one.

@ BRubble

I would try to answer this but I really don't even know what it's about, because I'm not questioning if he's a CEO or if he's there to make the company money, I think you got me confused with the guys who think Bobby is there to listen to them cry about why it's not cheaper, why the remaster is not coming by it's self because that's all they want to buy... (no I'm the guy who understands that all too well, that's why I just told you it will never be Stand alone) -Because I'm the one here who gets business, and knows the Company is not in business to be your friend, they are trying to make money... and if you get that, then you know the best way to sell the re-master is with COD infinite warfare, because that's how you sell a game nobody wants to gamers who just want the Re-master...

You might want to talk to Mike32UK he's the one that doesn't understand bobby is trying to sell you the call of duty you don't want, he's trying to get Call of duty to once again do it's numbers 22 to 23 million copies sold, so he has no intention of making the remaster a stand alone... it's not going to happen... but good luck with that...

PiperMCFierceson3216d ago (Edited 3216d ago )

Dude you are so right. The faster people stop supporting cod the faster things will change. Hopefully he'll get fired. Also honestly it's a PS3 remaster.... We should all still have it if we really " loved" the game so much.

mike32UK3216d ago (Edited 3216d ago )

Are you actually for real?? Hahaha I have zero interest in buying the new COD with or without MW remastered, I hate COD games. In Fact MW was the last COD game I did play and I didn't think it was all that great. So before you get all defensive next time because someone disagreed with you and clearly knows more about how business works... Do yourself a favour and don't.

Crazyglues3216d ago (Edited 3216d ago )

@Mike32UK
Tell yourself -Whatever floats your boat... -At the end of the day I really don't care what you buy player, my statement was to the people hoping for a stand alone... and next time you think you know something about me, do your self a favor and remember that's where your wrong, you really don't know sh*t about me..

-And why don't we just keep it like that, I'll go ahead and add you to my block list and you can do the same... I'm sure you have to get back to trolling anyway..

mike32UK3216d ago

Ooooo get her 😂 put your claws away you little bitch

whitbyfox3216d ago

I can't wait until the standalone version is released just to see you backpedal.

Crazyglues3216d ago (Edited 3216d ago )

@ whitbyfox

I'll tell you what, I'll be the first to buy your digital copy of the game when that happens, and that's a promise...

-but in the meantime I can't stay here it Dreamland where Activision suddenly lowers the price of the Season pass to $10 dollars and adds all the older call of duties to PlayStation Plus so they could be downloaded as free games since the new one is coming out, man I would love to stay here in dream Land with you but I'm too busy living in the real world...

-So I just got no time to hang with you up here in the clouds, but you go ahead and stay there, because not everyone has to live in the real world...

And I'm not kidding when it happens, I will buy your copy myself and send you the code, you hold me to it..

whitbyfox3215d ago

Sounds good. I'll remember.

Yup, hype train is coming really fast :)

Gardenia3217d ago

Looks are good, sound not so much

supraman213216d ago

They keep reiterating that they aren't going to change the game besides the graphics but they changed the sound. It bothers me more than it should.

GreenUp3217d ago

Will you need to have black ops 4 advanced warframe fighter 2 what ever it is now days disc in the console to play MW1? I hope that's not the case lol.

LucasRuinedChildhood3217d ago

I've been saying this already, but this is a really nice upgrade. And it keeps the gameplay in tact as well. I have a feeling they'll release this as a standalone between January to March.

The Worst Video Game Remakes Of All Time

BLG writes: "You take a big risk when you set out to remake something. Have you stayed true to the original? Have you made any worthwhile contributions of your own? Did you make sure that all the characters are wearing the right color hats? It’s a tricky thing to get right, and sometimes, it goes horribly wrong, hence the following list. These are the worst video game remakes of all time."

Remake or Remaster? I think the writer doesn't know the different between remake and remaster

MadLad1175d ago (Edited 1175d ago )

They just found bad rereleases and lumped everything altogether.
As someone who knows what it was like to write for nothing sites before I started shaking hands with the bigger sites, even the small sites barely paying anything in the name of "helping build you a portfolio" there were always weekly quotas you had to make in terms of articles, despite the fact they were barely paying you at all.

I'm guessing things are no different, being written articles are even more dead than when I was doing it.

0hMyGandhi1176d ago

I know that the Silent Hill HD "remaster" isn't the biggest offender on this list, but because I hold those games so dearly to my heart, the horrific end-product by an indifferent studio felt like a personal attack on some of the greatest "gaming years" of my life.

Yui_Suzumiya1175d ago

Runs fine on my PS3 with no issues.

porkChop1176d ago

Why are there remasters on a list of remakes?

Knightofelemia1176d ago

The SH HD Remaster I enjoyed I also had fun trophy hunting it for PS3. I know it has it's quirks that fans hate but I paid $30 for it on Ebay. The PS2 port is fetching around $150 so I saved myself $120 Canadian going the PS3 route I will grab SH3 on PS2 sometime. But I enjoyed the game specially since I have never played SH3 before SH2 I got free with a $10 Xbox I bought.

autobotdan1176d ago (Edited 1176d ago )

To the end of the earth all the way till eternity people will still get confused about REMASTER and REMAKE. Like episodes of the Twilight Zone. Forever and ever with no end

VersusDMC1175d ago

It's INSANE!!

It's like they think a new 4k version of Oldboy is the same as the American remake.

I use the movie example because i assume most videogame journalists don't like videogames and just took a job they could get...

Should Lovers of Modern Warfare Buy Black Ops: Cold War?

KeenGamer: "Fear not, Modern Warfare players, for this little article will give you all the information you need to decide whether to stay put, or make the next step in your FPS journey. The new Call of Duty game is finally here, but if you're still enjoying the series' previous instalment, you might be asking yourself one simple question. 'Should I buy Black Ops Cold War?'"

Nobody should be buying Cold War yet it is the best selling CoD.

I have a huge problem when you cannot get the nextgen version of the game by buying the standard version. Even if you own a nextgen console. The only way to get the nextgen version is through deluxe and higher versions.

This is a complete rip-off and money grab. If you buy the standard version and you own a nextgen console you are getting a gimped product for your console.

Let's Give Activision a Bit of Credit, Yeah?

It’s a truth universally acknowledged, that a Real Gamer™ must hate major publishers. None of the big boys escape criticism, whether it’s Ubisoft for its perceived approach to copy-and-paste game design or EA for, well, absolutely everything, really. Activision has oft been a dirty word in enthusiast circles, presumably because it insists on releasing wildly popular Call of Duty titles every year, but while other companies have had a dire generation, let’s give Bobby Kotick and his underlings a morsel of credit for some of its extracurricular activities recently.

The reality is that even if you think first-person shooters will give you cooties, Activision has done a wonderful job resurrecting some of its older brands. All the talk at the start of the generation revolved around whether Sony could wrench the Crash Bandicoot franchise out of the publisher’s cold hard grasp; the discussion was partly fuelled by outright fandom, but also because no one truly believed that the American publisher could do the mischievous marsupial justice in this day and age.

You should define what a real gamer is you ask anybody what a real gamer is and the definition will be different. A real gamer in my definition does not care about console wars, and is in it for the feel of the game the enjoyment of the game relating to the characters and story of the game and says wow this is a great game. As a customer I hate EA I hate their business practices I hate how they close down good studios I hate how they litter a game with loot boxes and microtransactions I will not support EA. Activision releasing older titles as remakes is nothing new other companies have done it I like Spyro and Crash but I will not buy them day one I wait until they are cheap then I buy them. As a customer I just don't like Activision either I like Namco,Sega,Insomniac,Epic,Naug hty Dog,Santa Monica,Ubisoft,Quantic Dream,Banpresto,Gust,KOEI Tecmo, and SquareEnix. Again as for Nintendo's Disney approach to the new Mario collection releasing it as a limited number run both digital and physical then throwing it back into the vault is a dumb idea. I want the Mario collection just for Galaxy and Sunshine but as a customer especially if I am buying said limited number run game I expect Mario 64 to be cleaned up looks wise and have it polished. If modders have been doing it for years then why the hell can't Nintendo do it even Disney when they take a movie out of the vault for a limited time even polishes up their old cartoon movies. If Nintendo keeps going down the Disney route with limited time run then goes back into the vault it will eventually kick them in the ass.

monkey6021754d ago

Activision laid off hundreds of employees to save costs in the same year they made record breaking profits and gave Bobby Kottick a disgustingly large bonus on top of his already obscene paycheck.

They left a huge library of properties dormant for years so they could force more studios into a cycle of developing Call of Duty games.

They lock demos for upcoming games behind preorders.

Remember when they tried to sell Spyro 1 on a disc titled a trilogy without 2 and 3 included? They had to be downloaded.

Honestly Tony Hawk, CTR, Crash 1 -3, Spyro 1 - 3 were all great but Activision is run by absolute scumbags and no we should absolutely not let them think we forget that

AngelicIceDiamond1753d ago

They need to rid of the 1X to ease up confusion and ppl will pick up the Series S. Keep the 1S as the only ast gen console.

JCOLE131951753d ago (Edited 1753d ago )

Edit: never mind

KwietStorm_BLM1753d ago

You immediately lost me when trying to be funny with all gamers hating big publishers. Just tells me you're overlooking the actual criticisms they deserve, for the sake of patting Activision on the back.
