Ranking the main Resident Evil games.

Resident evil 4 is definitly NOT the best resident evil game.It is an amazing game dont get me wrong, hell its a masterpiece, but it is not a good RESI game, every resi fan should know what I mean by that. Resident evil 2 is the best resident evil game ever made and I cant wait for the Resident Evil 2 Remake for Ps4

I could not agree more. If you take away the Resident Evil name and characters. It would of been a solid shooter. But as a Resident Evil game it is very poor and is the second poorest Resident Evil title (6 being the poorest).

I would fully agree with you if your 3 worst is something like this:
RE6
RE5
RE4

RE4 is special, but not in a good way unfortunately. It would have been an amazing idea of spin off (Outbreak), but now as a main episode. We have been witnessing RE downfall since.
The best ever RE to me is Code: Veronica, followed by RE1.
RE2, RE3 and RE: Zero follow. I love the puzzling, exploration and map reading..
RE2 remake is defninitely why i'm excited for this TGS. I hope they show it there, and a release date for Q1.

i believe the original resident evil is the best. although i havent played the second.

the original is classic in its setting, and its ability to build tension and scare you. death is always one door away. you actually feel like your life is in danger- it is actually survival horror. i have played the game for longer than i am willing to admit, and i have practically got nowhere in it. its ruthless.

resident evil 4 refined everything that was great about resident evil up to that time, in a game that was easily accessible and actually enjoyable to play.

i think the most under-rated resident evil game is code veronica, originally released on the dreamcast.

Wow you took the words right out of my mouth. Glad I'm not the only one who was shocked RE4 was placed as #1. It deserves to be high on the list, but RE2 is the defining gem in the series.

A good list, but i'd put Zero a little higher, Nemesis a little lower and swap RE4 and REmake around. Can't wait for 7 and the remake of 2.

The developers did a good job of ranking the games already. The 1st one is the best and the 6th one is the worse (until the 7th one comes out).

4 was the beginning of what killed the series for me. Presidents daughter gets kidnapped and they send 1 guy? Not to mention la plagas was HORRIBLE.

from my hour of playing REmake, it isn't all that good. Things like one lot one item inventory is bad, the fact that you also can't discard items is annoying in itself. Couple that with the fact that there's annoying animations for opening and closing doors, plus your knife is borderline useless and it makes for a boring an annoying beginning of a game.

I know this should be subjective but imo resident evil zero should not be on the 2nd to the last. Heck its better than RE5. Its still a traditional RE game compared to RE5 which is just a shadow of RE4. Here is my list:
1. Resident evil 1 REMAKE
2. Resident Evil 2
3. Resident evil 4
4. Resident evil 3 nemesis
5. Resident evil zero
6. Resident evil code veronica
7. Resident evil revelations 2
8. Resident evil revelations
9. Resident evil 5 and 6.

Im sorry but 5 is as bad as 6. Atleast 6 has zombies and the ada wong leon chapters are good. RE 5 has more action than suspense and horror. Wesker was the only good thing about it. I placed all the traditional RE games on top exception is 4 because it is a masterpiece.

I honestly don't get the love for RE4. There were so many things that I hated with that game, and that I partially attribute to the downfall of the series. The first three, along with Code Veronica are the only ones that I truly enjoyed. Code Veronica just might be my favorite of them all, though the original 3 are tough to beat. I've always been far more firmly entrenched in the Silent Hill camp, though.
