Game Informer met with id Software's John Carmack and Todd Hollenshead to talk about, well, a lot of things. In the hour-long talk, they talked about the state of PC gaming, QuakeCon and the pros and cons of developing for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

They have good and bad stuff to say about both consoles, they don't pull any punches and speak no BS.

I feel just like J.C. about the PS3.

"I’ve been pulling for Microsoft, because I think they’ve done a better job for development support, and I think they have made somewhat smarter decisions on the platform. It’s not like the PlayStation 3 is a piece of junk or anything. I was not a fan of the PlayStation 2 and the way its architecture was set up. With the PlayStation 3, it’s not even that it’s ugly--they just took a design decision that wasn’t the best from a development standpoint."

And that the point I have been trying to make but I think it has been misunderstood. But over all this was a great read. The PS3 is very powerful so the strength is there but it is not easy to bring out.

I hope this shuts dumbass fangirls up!!! both are great, one is easyier to develop for at this time, in 3 years or so, all this bullshit talk will be forgotten and (hopefully) we`ll just be "chatting" about the games.

I do not think people will forget. The hard core PS3 fans want to see the 360 go away all together. So in 2 - 3 years when things even out some (If that happens) you will still see the ridicules claims of a super superior PS3. You still see people pushing the truth so the fight will not stop until people act more level headed and less fanatical.

Hardcore gobshites make me sick on both sides! Either machine is not going to go away i don`t think, certainly not the 360 as it already has a great installed based at this time, PS3 is of course playing catchup. games sells systems not specs of course, its no good saying this is better than that if there is nothing to prove such a claim. Its fair to say at this moment in time the 360 holds all the aces! As a developer and lover of all systems, its a great time for me to be a gamer, same with the vast majority of you. It can only get better also. Q4 will see some pretty big big games hitting on both machines. Embrace them both, and not forgetting the Wii of course!!!!
