I think is a good thing. Well, I understand it not gonna be like old Resident Evil series. But it does return to horror aspect. That's good step, and hopefully they will add survival elements.

This is actually more like the old Resident Evils then 4,5,6

This will have limited ammo, health, weapons and return to puzzles. I mean....that is what the old RE was.

I dont know what to think about this game. Its definitly a return to horror but its also in many ways just them following modern industry trends, no different from RE6. Now instead of trying to copy the likes of COD they are copying Outlast.

I'm interested in seeing how weapons work, before I compare it too much to Outlast. The First Hour demo was straight up Outlast, to be sure. But I couldn't defend myself in that game, in any real capacity. What they reveal with RE just may change the dynamic of the game, from what we got to play.
Or it could be totally derivative, and boring.

Lots and lots of misinformation about this game and its sounding like many folks are just assuming what they think RE7 is as suppose to reading what the creators have been saying.

It's about a good thing as RE4 as it lead to a downward spiral of action games. New direction for RE is always a bad thing. Go back to the old direction back when the games were good.

the only two things that would make me think of buying another resident evil is: no multiplayer dependence and full vr support. as far as i am informed the vr portion of the game was received not very well. so.. i think i'll pass and spend my money elsewhere.

...I find it hard to see anything good in the fact that a pioneer survival horror franchise is reliving it's second personality crisis... Nothing is worse then the loss of personality for a game franchise...

So, by creating a trailer for a game that never happened, Kojima inadvertently created this new direction for Resident Evil. Of course, Silent Hills will never see the light of day, but at least something with potential came from its death. Who knows which direction Resident Evil would have went if PT never released.

Why go any other direction but your own ? It's Resident Evil, it always had a traditional route to go back to. And maybe degenerates who never truly loved the series would've started a riot, but I sure as hell would always welcome a true return to form for Resident Evil.

From what I have seen, the 1st person Silent Hill style game, me not interested in. Will get RE4 HD on 8/30 and call it a day. Prefer 3rd person RE. Fine with the old games.

this just feels like amnesia or some yt jump scare first person bs, no really feeling it, RE was never like this type of horror, this feels more like the horror u see in Silent Hill. Ugh i just wanted a return to the static camera angles not this first person shit.....
