No Mans Sky Update 1.05 Rolls Out

While No Man's Sky just had a new patch a few days ago, a new No Mans Sky update (1.05) has been rolled out just now over the weekend.

I'm no tech wizard or nothing but Emeril gets pretty hot when you mine it. Perhaps that's the issue. Was it on a hot planet as well? If that's the case you'll probably want to relieve the system with a tall glass of ice water. No need to thank me, I'm here to help. XD

Highly doubt that the game is impacting your HDMI signal. That's generally a system issue.

Nah, mine is fine. Couldn't tell any difference other it did not crash, and didn't send me to orbit when I launched

Mines been a rocket ship ever since Dark Souls 3. At certain tines it just goes crazy lol! Haven't noticed too much with NMS, but then I turned on Titanfall 2 and zoooom!

Clean it out, dust around your TV, console and get some air.

I bought a different TV stand and that made a huge difference. If you have one of the old boxy/ wood types get rid of it. I now have shelf that is open on all sides with just two posts that hold it up.

K. Yeah. Its been about 2 months since I have.

But on a different note, has anyone noticed that certain games on PS4 do this and others don't. DS3 did, JC3. They will keep quitting out too and the system won't recognize them. Eventually its fine but I simple never use the buttons anymore.

TBH, Im going to wait for new features from now on. My experience has very suddenly become pretty stale and just in case we are not going to see big and fun changes, Im going to save the last bits of enjoyments Im still getting from the game, so even those small quality-of-life improvements would feel more fresh.

In 6 months time NMS will be one of the best games. The amount of patches released shows developers are gonna fix everything and they Hage already announced planned free dlc

Just like minecraft which became a much better and bigger game over time

in 6 months they won't be able to do what they couldn't in 4 years. These patches are mostly to fix the bazillion bugs the game has.

Don't forget that half way through the development cycle their studio flooded and they lost everything. Not to mention, when you don't have to focus on getting the engine up and running right, you can put more effort into content. So far the game is pretty stable, I imagine after a few more patches it will be just as stable as the next game is. It only crashes once in a rare while for me as it is.

Lots of these features have been created already, but if they weren't finished or not working correctly they were stripped from release with the intention of being added later.

Just look at the patch release for 1.03. Do you really think they created all that in just the ~month between when the game went gold and when it released?

first of all it was a small team that towards the end were total of 14 developers. their studio got flooded so i could imagine they had to do some work once again

and UTH11 said a lot of content was very likely almost finished and didn't make it into the final game. so now we are seeing them release it quickly as they polish it. actual gamer feedback is more useful than anything else because now they can use that feedback to make improvements

Game WAS unplayable up until this patch for me. Seems to not crash for me anymore when wandering around planets.

Well seams more stable,.. Sometimes it crashes when it is about to save especially if you buy lots of stuff from mercants then do hop in/hop out quick save,..
Crashes are a pain in the ass,.. but I think it is slightly better now (at least warping)

So, curious. I usually game on PS4, because my PC sucks. I've been playing No Man's Sky on PC and the guy walks really slow, even when "running". Is that normal or is that just slowdown from my crappy PC? I mean, how does his speed compare to the guy/girl walking in Fallout 4?

Its the character. A way to spees that up. A combination of sprinting first, then melee attack followed immediately by jet back. Itll get going faster. Just feather the jetpack

I'm enjoying it although spent most of my time on foot got my suit up to about 26/27 slots but that's all I seem to find and the stones monoliths that can help me with the Lingo, one annoying thing is getting some blue prints only to find out nah same old ones that you've already got 5-10 times can't have some credits instead or something else?
I've heard of atlas stones not that I've seen a sniff I'm wondering if I'm just glitched in some sort of endless loop or missing the point/doing something wrong?

You will get atlas stones by jumping from star system to star system until you hit an atlas waypoint.

As you jump from star to star, occasionally you will get a message that says "anomaly detected" and a purple round space station will appear. Go to it and talk to both characters inside. If you can give them what they want, I think it's the short little mechanic/engineer dude that gives you the atlas pass.

I platinumed NMS and Frosty is wrong about the Atlas Pass. I have all 3 versions and attained all 3 the same way. First you need to be in a Korvax controlled system, then land on a planet and craft 4 or 5 bypass chips, next go to uplink beacons with the orange beam coming out of the top, when the choices pop up pick colonial outpost and keep doing it at the same beacon until you run out of bypass chips. Now, when you pick colonial outpost two things are discovered mining facilities and operation centers. It's the operation centers that unlock the Atlas Pass so just keep visiting them. Most important remember to be in a Korvax(The Robots) controlled system or you wont unlock an Atlas Pass. EDIT: I stand corrected. Apparently there are several ways to get an Atlas Pass. The way Frosty says to do it is in fact a viable solution as well as my own. I was wrong to call Frosty wrong, but from my own experience his way would take much longer. It's easier to farm operation centers than it is Space Anomalies.

Frosty is not wrong. I got all three of my Atlas Passes from Polo, and I went to an excessive number of colonial outposts before I gave up. Its possible they're available from either location, but based on how quickly I got my Atlas Passes when I gave up on farming mining facilities and operations centers and just kept jumping to make the anomaly ship appear, I'd guess that they may have changed the method of getting the passes in a patch.

Edit: I also have the platinum.

Frosty is not wrong, and you probably aren't, either. But you're misinformed, that much is clear. I got my first recipe for making Atlas passes (level 1, obviously) exactly in the way Frosty described.

Dude, just keep playing. You will eventually find the recipe for Atlas passes, don't ask people how to do it. This game truly encourages exploration, and you keep unearthing its secrets by simply playing it. It's one of the many aspects I love about it: the pretty natural way you come to learn about how the game works, without tutorials.

I'm pretty damn sure this game is going to become a cult favorite, regardless of the reviews. I hope the developer supports this game for a long time and make it really grow via content updates. The base game is fantastic, for a certain kind of players that don't mind its repetitive nature, and in fact, enjoy the grinding, resource collecting, slot expanding, life scanning, etc. I'm one of these.

I ain't got endless hours in the day I've already sunk 20+ hours in and didn't feel I was getting very far I understand it's about exploration hence why I've maxed out the on foot walkin learning the language.
I wanted some tips, you might be learning stuff but I just seem to be getting endless backstory into the tribes on the planets other than that not really getting anywhere.

Besides there's only so many time I wanna see this or that required and not start wondering where bloody hell it is. My suit is nearly maxed out... I say nearly I seen someone with 48?... Mines up to 31 so it's getting there bit repetitive tho TO ME being as I'm not for endless games normally, but I'm sure I'll get there just wanted some pointers not like I asked for a Map or a word for word description how to get to the centre of the universe which I've sort of gone off path and aiming for the other route. ✌🏻️🤓

The patch is working great for me. Can one of you guys who been playing the game since day one check your early old planets scanned data your dicovers made on planets. I'm worried about something and i don't want to report it until i'm sure.

Nope. No Man's Sky is the ONLY game that has crashed on my PS4, and multiple times at that.

All of my other games works fine on my PS4 and never crashed on me, not even once. No Man's Sky, on the other hand, has already crashed on me at least 5 times. Granted, I must have played it for about 10-20 hours already, so it's not that big of an annoyance, but it's clear that there's something wrong in the code of the game if so many people are reporting crashes.

It baffles me that people keep playing a game they don't enjoy for dozens of hours on end just to unlock a virtual trophy. This isn't healthy, and there are better ways to spend your time... like, platinuming games you actually like.

Me, I'm having a blast with No Man's Sky so far. I don't personally care if I Platinum it or not, but I'm several hours in and still pretty entertained with it.

well atm im finding a dry spell in my gaming library. No Man's Sky was meant to fill a gap between game releases so i just played what i originally planned to before realising i found it dull.
