The color on the PS3 doesn't look that faded out as already stated. The PS3 also appears to have more bloom thanks to it's powerful Cell processors.

Well actually if you have both game's side by side on the exact same 2 tv's you will notice how much more color the 360 has. I have noticed this with alot of game's.

That's just a result of the different black and/or brightness level outputs between the PS3 and XB360 (and possibly the author incorrectly switching the PS3 to "Limited Range" at the time of recording). When your HDTV is calibrated correctly, the PS3 versions of games should look every bit as deep and colorful as their 360 counterparts.

I've heard that XB360's HD outputs tend to exhibit a signficant amount of black crush (which is a bad thing if you're a videophile who is looking for the utmost in video fidelity and reproduction), which is why in side-to-side comparisons, the XB360 footage always appears darker.

Ps. Black RocK Studio have really impressed me this effort...can't really compare it to motorstorm, they haven't added the fancy lighting or anything like that, but i think they are going to look at this and have a second look

Either way Motorstorm 1 looks better than the ps3 version of this. It is possible to set the graphics on a ps3 down. I know whoever made this game could have done better. I have also seen better graphics on an xbox 360 than what this vid showed.

but that's the problem! it looks good and that's it! I played the demo and yeah, even the 1st Motorstorm is better than this! with only atv, the only thing which is a little bit fun are the tricks but that also not fun for long!

thing is, it's not about racing at all! yes, you are racing but you need to perform the tricks in every jump in order to stay at the top, means the more trick you do, the 'faster' you'll be in front! I tried to skip the tricks because I felt bored already due to the same tricks again and again, and I found myself trailing behind no matter how perfectly I ride that thing without crashing! then I restarted and do the tricks for the 1st 2 laps, I was easily in front. I skipped the tricks on my last lap and there I saw 2,3 of the AI which dropped so far away behind in the 1st 2 laps passing me like I'm riding a scooter!

so, been there, done that, PURE kinda 'force' you to do the tricks even if it means repeating the lamest one (the x button) for you to win and I think that's LAME! if you skip the tricks, it's more or less Mario Kart where the AI can pass you no matter how perfect you drive! and yeah, I said Mario kart!

this is better than Pacific Rift? it doesn't even any better the 1st one!

Strange people waste money on HDTV's only to have a console not taking advantage of 1/4 of what makes HD, HD(color) or should I say 1/2(color and contrast).

It is not just color though after watching it for a 2nd time the rez or sharpness is inferior on the PS3 version, it has a haze to it, its canceling out detail.

When devs try to make the best game they can not catering to the PS3's hardware, this is what you get.

I'm glad not all devs are holding the 360 versions of multi platform games back, just to match the PS3 versions.

The PS3 version looks like MGS4 and Heavy Rain etc.

Power of Green and Tarasque, that's just purely uneducated, atechnical, and biased conjecture from you two, regarding something video-output-related that you simply don't know anything about. The color and contrast differences you see between PS3 and 360 versions of multiplatform games comes down basically to the differences in brightness and black level output between the two machines.

Bottom line, when an HDTV is a correctly tuned and calibrated for the PS3, then it would look every bit IDENTICAL to the XB360 in terms of color and contrast (when an HDTV is calibrated for the different brightness output of the XB360).

its the standard PS3 color output, beyond3d guys did a test, the 360 color is all shifted towards red and black more to fake a richer look, and the PS3 is pretty much right on the color scale standard (even with rgb full range). To make them both identical, all you need to do on PS3 is change TV color setting to warm 1/warm 2 and decrease the brightness (to get the fake richer color look on 360). However some games like GTAV or burnout for examples have been tweaked by the developers to look as close as possible so you wont need to mess with the tv settings. Its soemthing so simple I cant believe ppl still dont get it.

I did, and most multi platform games look identical if they are using the same spec (ie resolution, same assets like textures etc). Its pretty much the FACT that the PS3 output is always brighter no matter what ppl say, unless you tv use a different setting with different input (ie different display mode or input connection liek HDMI compare to component). Every time, ppl ask a developer on any multi platform games, they will say the color or brightness difference, because You CANT have both a identical image even if use the exact same assets and resolution when the game is running on 2 different hardware unless the developer spend time to tweak it. Which most of them dont.

I swear these guys must test the ps3 version on a black and white tv my 52" samsung 1080p TV shows this game up way different than that comparison :/ But even at that if you look at an nvidia game compared to a ati game this is the case on pc and as is the case for the consoles being one is ati and one is nvid so these comparisons are best left for the pc where these cards excel not a console :/

I can record a video and post it to prove what im saying.. This just shows you how the media likes to twist stuff.. Eurogamer is a bunch of xbox homo lovers.. This video proves it.. Ps3 version looks just like the 360 one bottom line.. And the game sucks and comes no where close to motorstorm 1 or 2..

I would download the demo to compare the actual ps3 game to this but my HDD is making weird noises, plus there's a hurricane/tropical storm over right now and there's a chance the power will go out while downloading and screw up the HDD for good, I was trying to DL it but my power went out and luckily it still works.

I watched the video now and I compared the video to see if everybody is right about the colors. I saw in the ps3 version the riders arm looked like a wierd color and it actually looked normal in the game.So u guys are right. Eurogamer comparisons are crap.

The colors are always off and comparing at that resolution is laughable. In fact most comparisons are crap but even GT videos are better for comparisons.

Just like the Eurogamer Bad Company comparison, they have their PS3 configured VERY wrong.

I Have played the PS3 version and it looked exactly like the 360 one, as far as color. Now if you want to compare AA or resolution then you DEFINITELY need a better video than this.

I tried the demo for my PS3, it is soooo rich in color. The graphics is amazing. Pacific Rift better watch out for this one, fierce competitor and so is Fuel. I stop looking at these videos since most demos are now on both systems, The PS3 version is awesome i love it the game is a buy.

First off what they shown here looks more like a standard tv with the ps3 version. I played this demo on my 42 inch HDTV and u can see more color then what they are displaying with this washed out ps3 color comparisons.

the demo of the game was pretty fun. I've actually puy a couple of hours into it lol. I have the PS3 version and the colours on my HDTV look pretty damn slick, I know this has been said a lot here so far but yeah that video is definitely not an accurate representation of what was on my TV at all.

That being said though the racing game I'll be going for is Motorstorm 2 simply because it has more variety and also will have trophies, custom soundtracks etc.

I think Pure will turn out to be a pretty fun game though, wouldn't rule out buying it in the future though, maybe by thta time they'll have released a sequel and will have expanded on the game.

I rarely comment on these comparison vids, but this particular one is dodgy at best in terms of the PS3 version. I can honestly say this vid is quite a bit off the mark with what im seeing in the demo imo. The demo is very sharp and is noticalbly more colourful than this vid. Framerate is absolutely rock solid 30fps, and rarely do i notice any drops. As far as a few comments in here about the PS3 version having a hazy look to it, thus reducing detail.....Play in the flesh before commenting on a rather small dodgy vid. Gamespot did a recent PS3 hands on and said they (360) were practically the same. Hats off to Disney for providing a stellar identical cross platform experience.

I just didn`t like the game however! hehe.

It's great that a developer won't hold the superior 360 back, and the game clearly shows that the 360 is much more powerful than the PS3.

The PS3 looks noticeably worse than the 360 version. I haven't seen the 360 version myself yet, but the demo I downloaded for the PS3 didn't look near as good as what I have seen from the 360 version from the net.

This clearly show the limitations of the cell processor, and the PS3 horrible memory and 2nd rate graphics card. Oh well, at least it can play Bluray movies.

The colors are NOT muted and it looks fine. I still don't think Pure looks better than Motorstorm 1 regardless. Personally, I don't like the "trick" system Pure employs as it makes everything feel arcade like. I know I'll be buying Motorstorm 2....

The comparisons are alway very biased. For whatever reason the PS3 version always comes out as washed out or having less color. Being a PS3 and Xbox 360 owner I don't notice much of a difference. Even if there is a difference, its not significant enough to matter.
