Sony makes a copyright claim look a lot more like censorship.

If the Reviews are up and down then its not great or Most of them would support it . You will have bias reviews , Just like the fanboys on this site .

ninsigma2815d ago

Or simply (and exactly what it is), it's a divisive game and its mechanics are not for everyone. Up and down reviews do not mean it's not great at. In fact reviews mean nothing. Good or bad, a review is worthless.

Vaultdweller1112815d ago

I agree, reviews are fairly subjective. I think the issue is that there are many people who tend to make decisions based on reviews. The Daymeeun's impressions, good or bad, would have much more weight being one of the few who had actually played it (sans patch).

kaizokuspy2815d ago

Look man its like this. I think it's an amazing 10/10 experience for me. For someone else who doesn't like the solo experience of planet exploration, I can understand and accept that they hate the game or just think it's meh. It's a divisive game, it was said months ago it was going to be. After watching 3 hours of footage and sit down interviews with Sean Murray on IGN off youtube; I knew what I was buying

PhucSeeker2814d ago (Edited 2814d ago )

Some use reviews to justify their purchase, some use reviews to get the general idea of what is in the game. Things are only useful when you use them to fulfill your needs.

OB1Biker2815d ago

And then there r the sensible people who don't rely on reviews to tell them what they should like but instead rely on streams videos and their own tastes.

Goldby2815d ago

as true as that is, reviews from sources you align with will help the player decide as well.

i was interested in Mad Max, until Colin from Kinda Funny Games said that the combat was too mindnumbing and shallow and too easy. that turned me off because i found even Batman AK combat a little shallow after i got the hang of it. Colin saved me 70$

kaizokuspy2815d ago

@Goldby I agree. You enjoy colin, I enjoy angry joe. I love how modern gamers do research to find new games that cater to their playstyles!

Utalkin2me2815d ago

@Export

Ohhh the irony in your comment.....SMH.

LexHazard792815d ago

The irony in yours...smh.

spoilerjerk2815d ago

The reason there are down reviews is because it is neither a dude-bro shooter nor does it hold your hand like Assassins Creed/Far Cry. There are a lot of gamers (and reviewers) who are not accustomed to playing intelligent games which is why there is so much vitriol dressed up as "reviews".

GamingIVfun2815d ago

@Export

You do know that your a fanboy?

feraldrgn2815d ago (Edited 2815d ago )

I'm fine with a copyright claim if it's something to do with the story, lore or the not yet seen alien races.
But if it's just footage of someone exploring a generated planet, then there's no need.

That said, Youtube's copyright machine is rubbish.

Hardiman2815d ago

A game such as this will be all over the place as it really depends on what the person playing it is looking for in a game. Also to me it would seem that I wouldn't review it after a few hours. At the end of the day I never let critics or reviewers detour me from a movie or game. It's like most things if they agree with me then cool but if they don't well I don't really give a shit. If I enjoy something then I just enjoy it.

2cents2815d ago

Sony, you are behaving like Konami.

Shame on you.

LordMaim2815d ago

That is not even remotely the case.

2cents2815d ago

Silencing people, moderating posts, deleting comments from youtube, the ghost busters fiasco, removing videos, silencing people...

Nothing even remotely similar to Konami. Sure. Keep drinking that corporate Kool aid.

k2d2815d ago

That's making light of what Konami did. Not cool.

LordMaim2815d ago

Oh no. A company that doesn't want videos of their games leaked in advance. So unheard of.
Not sure what you mean by the "ghost busters fiasco" but I'm going to assume you didn't like it, and that insults you somehow.

To be on the level of Konami, you'd have to have people basically kept prisoner in their office and extorted. Delaying people a couple days from posting video of their game that wasn't even out yet? Not even close.

Realms2814d ago

@2cents

Right because Nintendo isn't notorious for copyright infringement take downs at the end of the day companies can do whatever they want with their content. The fact that many companies choose not to take action against many youtube user's doesn't mean they can't. Fair use rules need to be more clear on youtube but it''s not a guarantee that a company may not like how you use their property and seek to make you take down you're footage. When you buy a game no where does it say that you own the right to stream it even dough many people do, you buy a game to play it not stream it. If you want to voice you're opinion without censorship many video game forums exist that offer you that option.

Silly gameAr2815d ago

Well, the article reeled in at least one drama queen. Well done dispatches.cheatcc.

2cents2815d ago

No... You're a towel.

2cents2814d ago

@realms.
So you agree that sony have misbehaved then.

Nitty is pretty bad but they have a far more family friendly approach, they have been control freaks ever since they went online, because they have remained consistent its hard to criticize them as that is what they have always done to protect their brand.

Anyways, it is what it is.

If you're wanting more PSVR 2 support, you should probably buy all of these games.

Speak with your wallet!

Profchaos40d ago

Bit rich to have to buy games you don't want because you want Sony to support the expensive headset they sold us which cost as much as the console it runs on beyond paying third partys to support it.
Seriously in terms of first party we have horizon on day 1 and a gt 7 vr mode.

They seemingly have made little effort to support it beyond paying Capcom to make re games in VR or a second party studio to make firewall which was mismanaged.

I'm a day 1 psvr2 user and the only thing I'm excited for right now is PC support.

I commented recently this bespoke VR game development model we have right now clearly doesn't work

crazyCoconuts40d ago

On the one hand I feel like there's been plenty of smaller non-AAA games to play and occupy me as a supplement to my flat screen gaming.
But I agree that Sony has done nothing to elevate this beyond the niche it's in and into the mainstream where it would be economical to create AAA games for it.

Babadook740d ago (Edited 40d ago )

Most of these games are worth owning for most people; I own all but 2 of them in fact. So I agree with kevco33. I think you're crazy if you downplay this list quite frankly. Sony can't keep funding software if people don't buy any of it, the ball is squarely in OUR court.

Sony has spent a lot on 3rd party stuff this gen like RE.

phoenixwing40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

Saving up for the headset is my first hurdle. Let alone buying games I don't want lol

mudakoshaka40d ago

People downvoting you for not having enough finances...what a world we live in, haha

phoenixwing40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

@mudako
They feel affronted at the very thought that I don't plunk down 500 immediately lol I have a little over 900 games in my backlog I've been buying games instead of hardware ever since I got my PC and ps5. I just don't know if vr is really for me honestly. Every time I have a couple hundred allocated to video games it makes more sense to buy a bunch of flat games instead of vr ones

mudakoshaka40d ago

I have 9 out of these 10 games. I try to buy all the VR games I like to support the advancement of VR!

TheEroica39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

I spoke with my wallet after watching the first headset get weak support. Easy pass until Sony earns my money. Feel bad for those who parted with 500 bucks, falling for the hype that Sony was actually gonna support this thing.

Neonridr40d ago

I own 7 of these titles off the list, lol.

NotoriousWhiz40d ago

I'm trying to decide if it's worth holding onto my psvr 2. I enjoy what it has currently, but it seems unlikely to get anything else. Might be better off just waiting for something with more support if that ever comes.

Profchaos40d ago

As a fellow psvr2 owner the question seemingly comes down to do you own a PC.

I think I'm all in I have a habit to hold onto my systems anyhow I still have my psvr1 to hell I still have my NES.

But while it's still worth something yeah you could sell it and if Sony turns the ship around you should be able to buy another one for less than you soldmit for I feel like we won't see any fix for the headset for the next 2 years rumours show that Sony has no current first party VR games in active development after they closed London studios

The whole psvr2 situation has left me feeling a little burnt on PlayStation as a whole to be honest. The first psvr felt experimental but it was supported far more than this superior headset

MIDGETonSTILTS1740d ago

GT7 surprised me, because I hate racing games, but i poured 100 hours into it way too quickly.

I’m looking forward to the Metro VR game this year, and I hope that WW2 dogfighter game releases eventually.

talocaca40d ago

I have most of them 😅

Waiting for a sale on Synapse and Arizona Sunshine 2.....also Metro coming this year looks great.
