Vito as a lieutenant to Clay? They really have taken a crap on the franchise. Work with Clay? Yes. Advise Clay? Yes. Be subordinate to him? No. Not with his background and knowledge.

I agree 100%. Sadly they aren't giving Vito respect he deserves. I am sure I will still enjoy the game though.

Vito is the head of his own small italian family thats it, Clay is banding together multiple families to take on Sal Marcano with himself spear heading each assault. Why shouldn't he be the leader?

Clay severed in the army longer than vito and is a better solider. As far as crime goes he worked for the black mob for a number of years doing the same shit vito did most likely.

I wonder if some of you people even played mafia II. Vito was a shit character compared to Tommy who broke omerta to try and save innocent people. Vito broke omerta out of sheer greed and seem to have no regard for anyone outside of his circle. Hell he even had a crappy reason for joining the mob he was just LAZY at least Tommy and Clay fell into it. Vito was literally too lazy to work for anything.

Played it and platinumed it. And own the PC version as well. Vito is a cinema worthy character that rubbed shoulders at the highest level. Serving in the army in no way qualifies one to understand the intricacies of the mob's structure and how best to dismantle it. And length of time in the army does not make one more qualified nor does it instill heroism to a greater degree. If you are looking for a goody two shoes character I suggest this may be the wrong game. Vito lazy? No. He made the hard decisions to care for the family that needed him and he knew that slaving away for a pittance under the fist of an unappreciative boss was not the way to accomplish this.

Also employment of adolescent vulgarity in your defense of Clay and attack on the story of Vito only serves as a real life parallel to what I related below regarding brutish characters that lack the refinement of a Vito.

Wow I didn't know you were that full of crap bro. I am not replying again, vito went to one job quit before the work day even ended then joined the mob. Love how you dodged the Tommy bullet you know the superior protagonist of the first title you most likely never played. What hard decisions did vito make dragging his whole family(mob) into a war to make a quick buck selling drugs what an angel LMFAO. Clay is a better solider this is fresh from the developers mouth, Vito was sent home because he was injured in combat(later discharged by joe) Clay severed till completion of his tour. Last as for the employment of adolescent vulgarity I used one swear word try harder to look smarter bro its totally working / sarcasm.

Edit: I honestly think your the stupidest person on this site with the best grammar LMFAO. Do you even read what you type? or do think oh big words I am safe. "Length of time in the army does not make one more qualified" LOL

"Wow I didn't know you were that full of crap bro. "

This. This says everything one needs to know regarding this poster Scar as well as Clay. This was one of the issues to which I was referring. They have taken the sophistication and flair of Vito and reduced it to Clay's thuggery. Instead of Al Pacino or De Niro we were given Vin Diesel. Tommy betrayed the mob and he knew it. Even his final words in Mafia I make it clear you need strong values, even in crime. No sense of Omerta. He was a rat. Period. Vito made the hard decision going from a place of ultimate honor in the military. You know nothing about Clay except what the developers have told you and you believe it all?

So no one is dodging the Tommy bullet. Tommy was a supporting character in Mafia II. We were discussing Vito and Clay. Side distraction has no place here. It is obvious why you felt you needed to retreat to Mafia I.

"Last as for the employment of adolescent vulgarity I used one swear word try harder to look smarter bro its totally working / sarcasm."

Actually this entire affair paints you in a less sophisticated light. That isn't sarcasm.

"Edit: I honestly think your the stupidest person on this site with the best grammar LMFAO."

Insults are the last resort of the defeated and you have readily proven that axiom.

I would have rather played Vito in Mafia 3

morganfell1212d ago

Agreed. In addition to so many other things the new game lacks that certain style compared to II: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

I really dislike this soldier dude-bro approach on the new character...I'd rather play Vito's son!
