I was playing 60fps games back in 1999.

yeahokwhatever2808d ago

with about 10,000 polygons on the screen. We've got millions now, and deeper AI, filters, shaders, etc. whats your point exactly?

Muzikguy2808d ago

So take the games of today and try playing them on a PS1 or N64. Bet you won't even hit a single frame per second. We've come a long way since then

InTheZoneAC2807d ago

and I can play snes emulator at 60FPS!!!!!!

SinkingSage2807d ago

Kek @ all the butthurt to this comment, so we can have more polygons, more shaders, etc, but we went from 60fps games to 30fps games, and that's somehow okay?

I was hoping we would get to play NMS with the PSVR. That is not on the table now that the game is running at 30 and lower framerates. The NEO could help with that...if not I hope they add VR support on PC.

Lamboomington2808d ago

and a number of massive graphical improvements including approximately 5x draw distance (that last one the game seems to sorely need)
Seriously though, better graphics would benefit this game so much because exploration and scale are such an important part of it. Still, I get that it's incredibly difficult to have the best of both worlds.

Mulando2808d ago

Neo should not be able to reach 60 fps, where the PS4 reached 30. Only if it normally would reach ~50fps but the framerate was than capped to 30. The CPU shouldn't be that much better. Still the old design, but with a bit more frequency.

Deeke2808d ago

If leaked specs are right, PS4 Neo will absolutely hit native 1080p 60FPS in all games with Neo Mode. But it'll be at a devs discretion how Neo Mode is implemented.

I think 1080p 60FPS will be a standard, but upscaled 4K with dynamic res won't be available for all games. It just depends on the game, and the developer.

Yea 30 to 60 would make the game seem a lot smoother.

destroyerz12808d ago

Yes, but there are other important things concerned, FOV is one of them.

@shin-Zantetsuken Its not a FPS, its just a First person perspective.

If NEO would produce a fundamental change than what would Scorpio or PC do?

jukins2808d ago

That's not the point. I think what he's saying is the game has been somewhat limited since it had to be on console as well as pc and with the additional muscle of neo they might be able to do things that weren't previously possible

s45gr322808d ago

It can already be done on the PC. No need to handicap the game because is on outdated PS4. The PC already offers 4K resolution, VR, NVIDIA gameworks, fully realistic physics.

Kokyu2807d ago

@S45gr32 1st the precentage of people playing 4k isnt that high guy, Second PS4 was the lead platform the game was designed for not PC.

ShadowKnight2808d ago

PC makes everything fun but I can't speak on Scorpio since it want never get No Man Sky
