Something you quickly run into in No Man's Sky is inventory limit. You don't start off with a ton of space to hold all the materials and upgrades you want.

Hello Games has secretly worked on a Nintendo Switch 2 version of No Man's Sky. But there's also a new juicy update that lets you be a mayor.
That's a nice little surprise.
Honestly I gotta hand it to Hello Games. They really turned this game into something else with their dedication to it. A rocky start, but the game is unrecognizable to what we had at launch.

the ship has 500 slots versus your character so if you need space make sure to put your carbons, irons, plutonium or heridium in the ship and carry they stuff that doesn't stack up or is rare
