OnlySP: The developers over at Dream Wave Games have been eerily quiet about their upcoming Unreal Engine 4 survival horror game Absention since we talked to them in May of last year, but a new update has been provided today and promises a gameplay trailer soon.
OnlySP: We’ve covered a lot of exciting looking games here on OnlySP and we’ve interviewed a lot of the developers making those games. However, sometimes we never actually see those games come to fruition or don’t hear from the developers for a long period of time.
Really looking forward to seeing more from The Soul Keeper. The fact they are using an episodic model to build a story in an open world is really interesting to me.
The thing is its so easy nowadays to get your hands on proper tools to make a game that practically anybody can do it. But afcourse finishing it is a whole different story.
Don't forgot Hellraid
Reminded me of Dark Messiah and the combat looked amazing
OnlySP: Featured on OnlySP in May last year, the upcoming Unreal Engine 4 powered Absention drew attention as a promising entry in the canon of first-person survival horror, with its lushly detailed but claustrophobic setting.
Looking forward to this game. Been following it on greenlight for a long time now. Love the setting and the visuals.
I'm not the only one who is reminded of Dishonored when looking at their logo, right?
OnlySP: In the last part, we met some of the team and the story behind Dream Wave Games. Now it’s time for more on Absention.
“Absention is a first-person survival horror, where you’re trapped in a lake house that changes its layout each time you play,” explains Robert Bruce, lead designer and founder of Dream Wave Games. ”You’re cursed to relive the same night over-and-over while being hunted by a mysterious figure.”
