Kyle Durant: In the end I put around fifteen hours into the singleplayer alone and lost track of time while playing. There is fun to be had especially with the death defying tricks, action racing, and first place finishes to achieve. If only it wasn't so difficult. Most of the time you have to grind for upgrade points to simply move the story along and still be at a disadvantage.

The quirky appeal of the much-loved but ultimately doomed Dreamcast came from the fact that it wasn’t really up for running FPS shooters with that admittedly absymal joypad, and EA didn’t bother showing up to fill it full of sports games. Instead, the console made its name on arcade ports and one of the best was the water-based racing gem, Hydro Thunder.
