Resident Evil 7 is Better off Not a Reboot

I’m a longtime fan of the Resident Evil series, and I’d hate for all the stories, characters, and lore to go away. Capcom has said that Resident Evil 7 isn’t a reboot of the franchise — However all signs point to the opposite.

Didn't read your article, but I am agreeing with your sentiment. I do not wish for a reboot. Way too much lore and characters to be thrown out the window. I hope and pray its si a continuation. Otherwise, I fell they should call it something else.

I disagree. The story was drivel from RE2 onwards. The first one was the only RE that had any mystery to it, the rest was all about that "evil corporation." Each game should've been made as its own standalone story and setting imo.

i ultimately hope RE7 to fail ....yes i hate im saying this because its a work of many people where a failure may be the cause of loosing their jobs (though some need to be fired as they r completely clueless what Resident Evil is) but as customer and fan of the series .....i say this is not Resident Evil ! this is not it! (hey Capcom you can still name it differently and make a proper RE7 ) it s even more alien that RE4-5-6 and i wont buy the thing......is the least i can do in order to sting Capcom to get a grip and develop a proper RE game, faithfull to its roots

I am disappointed that resident evil 7 is first person, honestly I wish that they would have kept it third person like the other 6 games in the series. I may not even get resident evil 7 because of this, I am keeping my eye on it but I am not to hopeful.

I thought I clicked the wrong video when I first saw gameplay. Boy was I wrong. 5 was a letdown aside from Mercenaries and the mansion DLC and lets not talk about 6. Now 7 looks to be another no go for me. REmake 2 or bust because RE 7 is now trying to be a Silent Hill and I'm not feeling it. Plus shoehorning in VR was probably the main reason for suddenly making RE 7 1st person in the first place.
